While Tails' devotion and to his idol is useful in the story, it is quite horrible that this tale of unrequited homosexual love is shoved down our throats. Also, even more sickening is that elements of the Sonic fan community seem to embrace this and actively create "fan fictions" and images portraying Sonic and Tails as openly gay and enjoying regular anal sex.
