See that lighter brown leather around my neck? Yeah that would be one of those cop-style suspender like holsters. In that pic I had two empty Berretta mags under the right shoulder, but no weapon. I was going to pose with some 20-round AR15 mags, but I decided not to.

My dad left all his weapons at my grandfather's house (the magazines are his, but they are for military issue weapons that he doesn't own - he just prefers the 20-round to the more standard 30-round magazines for the M16, and I guess he wanted spare M9 mags just in case), and I haven't found the time (or money) to get any of my own, so the mags and the holster were the best I could do.

He doesn't have a Berretta. The only way he would use them is if he is issued one ie, he is sent to war, or an unsafe location. It is more then likely for convience. Extra mags could be useful since, he mentioned during the first Gulf War that the sand messed up the magazine springs, so they would fail to load properly and he would end up dissassembling and cleaning the mags daily. Having extra spare mags if one malfunctions is always better then not. That and they would be his so he wouldn't have to sign them out or worry about them. He also has his own kevlar helmet that he owns as well. He used to have some .45 mags, and he also doesn't own a Model 1911 and they aren't even standard issue anymore so... it's not like these are things he uses all the time or at all. Sometimes it's just better to be safe.

And he isn't a gun nut at all. He strongly supports the second amendment, but doesn't share my fascination on the subject. All he owns is a Ruger revolver and carbine, both chambered for .22 caliber rounds and a 12-gauge pump action. All of which reside in East Lansing, MI whilst he lives in VA. It's been almost five years since we have even had weapons in our house, aside from this real slick marine combat knife.

But then you stopped reading after sentence one because I responded to a "joke."

Ah, I didn't realize your dad was military.

And yes, I read the whole thing. Your posts are interesting when you're not being a dick.

Well, Nathan (my cousin whom Chris looked like at one time) is coming to town this month for some spring snowboarding. I'll see if my comparison of your looks holds true or not.
