Dear LORD, this is the best stuff ever. Download it now. The Emerald Hill and Casion Night remixes are the best, IMO.

I really like the idea behind this but a lot of it is just a little too remixed for my taste, you really have to work to pull the original tune out of some of these tracks. I like some of it but it's not the best Sonic material I've grabbed off OCRemix.

That's kind of what I was thinking. Some of those I don't like at all, some of them are decent enough, but I think I've heard better all around the board.

If so, could you point me in the right direction, GG!?

Try vgmusic.com. They've got shitlists of MIDI songs and remixes.

There's alot of good stuff elsewhere on OCR. In particular I recommend Jivemaster's Angel Island remix, Analoq's Azure Lake, Jivemaster's Chemical Plant and Launch Base, DarkeSword's Hidden Palace, McVaffe's IceCap, Rayza's Marble Garden and Lava Reef, PXfury's Sonic 2 boss mix, Mcvaffe's Sonic 3 Special Stage, and my personal favorite, djpretzel's Marble Zone "Love Hurts" mix. There are some other good ones in there, too.

I'm partial to JAXX's "Lightning Star."

I liked his "Green Beginnings" better. I think you have to go to http://www.vgmix.com for that one though (Spacepony's "Green Chill Zone" is also a favorite).

Some of the best Sonic remixes on OCRemix are done by Jivemaster. Raw Battery and Partical Brain kick ass.

My personal favorite OCR is the Syphonic Ruin remix from Sonic 3D Blast. Get it.

Some of the "Hedgehog Heaven" remixes are on par with what I do. That's not a compliment, considering I just take MIDIs and run them over with a few soundfonts.

They're just... bland, I think. Nothing really ear-catching about them. There's a few in there that are actually repulsive (the invincibility tune). If you want some solid Sonic remixes, look up:

Jivemaster - Sonic 3: "Tight Finale"
Jivemaster - Sonic CD: "Da Boom"
Jivemaster - Sonic 3D Blast: "Symphonic Ruin"
djpretzel - Sonic the Hedgehog: "Love Hurts"
Rayza - Sonic 3: "Icecap (FrozenKnuckles)"
Rayza - Sonic 3: "SonikElektronik"
PxFury - Sonic 2: "Robotnik's Trippin on Ecstacy"
Xenepp - Sonic CD: "ColKaos Stoned Future"
DarkeSword - Sonic 2: "Dream Pipe"
SkyHigh - Sonic 3: "Snow Motion"
Rebach - Sonic Heroes: "More than Heroes"
CarboHydroM - Sonic 2: "Let me Run Again"

Those are the ones currently on my playlist, anyway :P

I dunno. I gave it a listen and thought it was quite good. I really enjoyed Next My Generation by analoq, Fortress of Glory by Psawnik, Robeatnik's Theme by Richter, Travelling Through A Dream by Hadyn, and Super Sonic Ska by Blak Omen.

Anyone heard "Knuckles Unknown from MC" by José the Bronx Rican? (It's on OC as well.) I usually hate rap, but I make an exception for this because of the awesome effort that went into it.

Holy crap, you're right. That one is pretty cool.

I think I remember downloading Super Sonic Ska with high hopes, except it wasn't actually ska and so I sacrificed a small goat in my anger. That's the one, right?

I just realized, the actual name of that Remix is rAAw Battery. It's funny because the "AA" in rAAw must symbolize AA batteries. Harhar.

Well, if something really kicks ass in this remix compilation, it's the "Hidden Palace Future" by FFmusicDJ. God, I love that one. Other mixes are also good, but not great. But a worth of a download in any case, IMO.
