Oh, FUCK yes. Big spiders! Skeleton things! Weird glowy statues! Ghosts! Shooting down flying things on horseback! Cats!

I wanna play it!
I find the sequence with the spider to be strangely humorous.

And
BOAR RIDING!
Also, that was the prettiest water I've ever seen in a game.

I'm not really a major Zelda fan, but that looks pretty sexy. Boar riding!
Also announced... apparently the revolution will be backwards compatible with the GC. I guess that means there WILL be a regular controller in there somewhere, admidst the touch screens and tilt sensors and inflatable monkeys.

Well, at least something good came of all this. Of course, I'd be even happier if Sega pops in at some point during the conference tomorrow and shows us a new Sonic game that doesn't make me want to tie a cinder block to my ankle and go for a quick dive.
That or a new Phantasy Star Universe trailer.

It looks great, but kind of bland. I hope it retains the quirkiness and imagination of the other post-NES Zelda games.
Do you think there might be an animal theme going on? The trailer had Link riding boars and horses, Link playing with kittens, and a prominent wolf for some reason.

Methinks that Link is the wolf. One of my sources from several months ago told me that Link would have the ability to transfrom into a wolf and eagle amongst other things.
I didn't think anything of it until now.

You know how shitty that Shadow trailer was? Well, the Zelda trailer is the exact opposite-- Watching it is better than watching really good porn.
Transforming into animals might be cool. I mean, transforming into different people in Majora's Mask was kind of fun.
Oh yeah-- And Iwata said at the GDC that the Revolution will have built in Wi-Fi compatibility. Since (according to a very common rumor) Nintendo is finally going online (with the Nintendo DS Network), perhaps the Revolution will be the home for PSU?

That would be both awesome and awesome. I hope it's true.

'One of your sources'? The rumour surfaced and then seemed to be confirmed as fake, although I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't have some truth in it after seeing all the zoology in that trailer.

I like how the trailer features a scene in which Link does nothing but pick up a cat and then run off into the horizon. I don't know why, but I found that to be incredibly funny.
And the game has Gorons! And Gorons automatically make anything better! All we need now is for a certain pirate/princess to show up and I'm completely and totally sold. =D

Never, EVER, coming back. At least I hope.
And Popcorn, yeah, the story got out in several forms, but I was told by an informant as well. I've got a couple of those, you know.

This game is the sequel to Wind Waker, so I have a good feeling that Tetra/Zelda will show up at some point.

He'd probably appreciate that. He's always struck me as a character who wouldn't mind being pounded in the ass so much.

It has been a long time since I played Wind Waker, but the one thing I remember is that fucker wanted an assload of money to decode those maps. I think I had my wallet as big as it could go and full, and I still had to go farm some money for that douche. His GBA abilities were kind of neat though.

Yeah, and getting the Tingle statues would get you some serious cash. And if you had a full wallet and still had to get money, then you didn't get the biggest wallet, but I forgive you. Anybody who uses that monkey in their avatar can't be all bad.

What was
particularly stupid about that Tingle stuff-- apart from being a painfully cheap means of extending the game-- was that it forced you to go and find those wallet upgrades rather than being able to pay in batches. God, Wind Waker really started choking near the end.

It was kind of over for me as soon as the novelty of that stupid boat wore off, which is to say, immediately after that second dungeon (the first one you have to sail to).

But there is so many hidden treasures to find and islands to explore! 60+ hours of non-stop action adventure gameplay!!!1

The novelty of the boat never wore off for me. I think I must have a goldfish brain or something.

It was pretty cool except for the fact that in practice all you did was point the thing in the right direction and hold up on the stick.
