Why? Because I found them on IMDb via boredom. Well, I just thought they were intriguing and I didn't see them anywhere on the site.
--At one point, Sonic Team had plans for a sequel to Burning Rangers which would have been released on a more powerful game console. One of the ideas for the sequel involved the location background being completely flammable and burning away entirely if the player took too long to complete a stage. The early death of the Sega Saturn led to poor sales of the game, however, and the sequel was never developed further.
--All of the Rangers have a number assigned to them. Chris Partn, the leader of the Rangers, wears a 1, Lead Phoenix has a 3, Big Landman is 5, Tillis is 6, Shou is 7 and Iria Klein is 8. It is never revealed or otherwise explained why the number '2' isn't used, but '4' likely wasn't used because the game was originally Japanese, and the Japanese kanji for '4' also means "death".

So the kanji for 4 is similar to our "unlucky" 13? Interesting. In any case, I still haven't been graced with the ability to play Burning Rangers, despite my $10 Saturn sitting right there.

I like how it's hinted that Chris's father died saving Shou. Does anyone have a screenshot of that image that flash's over the screen whilst Shou is saving that Neil kid at the end of Gravity Zero?

4 and 9 are both unlucky numbers in Japan, aren't they? I found out 4 was years ago, and for some reason remember 9 being the same way...

I don't know about 9, but 13 is considered unlucky in Japanese superstition as it is in ours.

I dunno about 9, but I remember 7 also had a similar deal with the kanji being the same for death or some other bad thing, like with 4.

7 sounds more like it, yeah.

I don't think seven is unlucky at all. I believe it and three are both positive numbers.

Damnit, I dunno, then. But it was 4 and some other number. I may not even have heard right.

7 and 3 are biblical numbers. Are they really meaningful in Japan? I would've assumed their significance to be limited to western cultures.

7 and 3 are important in damn near every culture in history, 7 especially has religious significance all over the world. There's some heavy-duty Jung archetype shit going on there.

I also got some stuff off there about how Sonic Adventure was the best-selling Dreamcast game ever with over six million copies sold, but I figured I'd just get a big, fat "fucking duh, fatass" from you all.
...
......
*sigh* Go ahead. You can say it.

Have you ever considered altering NiGHTS' silhouette in your avatar to reflect this?
