Real Sonic Sneakers

Post by Makkdah »

I searched for this topic first, and nothing came up. Does anyone know if there is (or was) a place where you could purchase sneakers based off of Sonic's? Ooh it would be so amazing to have them.

They stopped selling the Scorcher models though. Those are the ones they based Sonic's on. There's a bunch of independent retailers you could get them from, I'm sure.

I actually remember now hearing that his shoes were SOAPs. Makes sense. I just need to find the specific model.

And here comes the question:
The SA2 SOAP sneakers should have stayed? Or Sonic's usual sneakers are always the best?

I prefer the SOAP ones.

SOAP shoes on Sonic were horrendously ugly in comparison to the old model. They looked ridiculous.

They were also a goddamned advertisment. Last advertisement I remember before SA2 was Bubsy using a Nerf gun in Bubsy 2. Just as lame, if not lamer.

The older model is smaller and better looking. It's sleeker, takes up less space, and Sonic is still able to grind rails. Works for me.

...If I wouldn't hurt myself badly messing around with those, I'd buy a pair.

Sonic didn't grind rails in his original shoes...

Unless they went back to them in Sonic Advance 3 or whatever. I haven't been paying attention.

The ad worked, most people didn't know what SOAPS were at the time. I had a peir before SA2 came out though cause I was that damn cool. Almost killed myself with them a few times. Oh and the Scorchers are just red, they don't really look like Sonic's. And I like Sonic's old shoes better, I don't get why they didn't just make his old model into SOAPS. Oh and I dunno if showed you guys this, but I walked around most of 10th grade in these.

That's fucking awesome. I actually tried spiking my hair and running around naked, but it didn't really work.

I actually painted a pair of slip-on shoes red with white stripes, but when the paint dried they stopped functioning as shoes and became a testament of my ability to attempt one plan and then give up immediately when it didn't work. Also they left paint chips everywhere. For the record, I was only 8.

I had a pair of slippers that looked just like Sonic's original shoes, but grey instead of red. I loved those things.

Yeah. If anything normal people would mistaken it for being Shadows' shoes, and I'm sure any decent Sonic fan wouldn't want to be associated with anything related to Shadow.

I wonder if my brother still has his Scorcher Soap shoes. They were blue, but still looked pretty neat.

Too much of a heel on them, dawg.

Originals for me, all the way.
