Star Wars

I'm quite an avid fan of Star Wars and ,for no appropriate reason, I feel that I should give you my two cents on the famous movie series. I mean, I have to say that the original trilogy is among the best fucking movies I've ever seen: especially Episode V. I'll say that I didn't get a suprise from the whole Vader thing as by the time I got round to seeing the movie it had been parodied an obscene ammount of times- however the tension, characters and overall plot was truly gripping. And Episode VI was just grand, it had some nice twists that I didn't see coming and gave us a touching ending. And, Episode IV was all right, not as good as those two, but still decent.

Then, we get Episode I... I can't be bothered to do a whole lot of ranting, but it is a pretty awful film: I mean Jar Jar? What Fuck-wit came up with that stereotypical eejit. Really, all it does is tell us a story we didn't need to hear.

Episode II was an improvement, however, Anakin puts Vader to shame however by acting like a whimpering git. Of course that big battle at the end was pretty cool, not to mention that the fight with Yoda and Count Dooku makes the film worth seeing.

With the recent decline in quality, I fear that Episode III could be a flop, which will be a shame considering that it will be the last one. Sorry for rabbiting on, I mean my opinion on Episode I is basically summed up by this one episode of The Simpsons, but what's you guys opinions?

The series has been going downhill since Empire Strikes Back.

I thought 4 was kinda boring, but it was sort of needed to set up the story. 5 kicked ass, and 6 was pretty damn good also. 1 sucked for the same reasons everyone said it sucked, Darth Maul was a badass though.

The 2nd was kind of boring, but I still enjoyed parts. Anankin was too much of a whiny bitch, and the movie had some of the worst dialouge ever. I know the first movies were cheesy, but as my friend puts it, comparing someone's skin to sand is fucking retarded. Oh and I liked the Yoda fight scene at first, but it has gotten kind of lame since then. I know Yoda is a badass, but that fight scene just made him seem like a psych that hopped around, it didn't seem right. Dunno why. Oh and as another friend put it, it's kind of lame that Dooku has the force lightning, that was way cooler when only the emporer had it.

What?! Although, it wasn't nearly as bad as Episode 1 & 2.

The original trilogy is awesome. The new one sucks. Mostly because the new one is covering 40 years whereas the original had the same (good) characters throughout.

You know, I'm not very critical with movies, so I can't say the new trilogy is bad. But that clone wars animation in CN was kinda neat.

The original trilogy was all right, although Jedi was kind of a let down. The new trilogy is terrible. There seems to be a strong relationship between the degree of creative control given exclusively to Lucas and the quality of the resulting films, and it's not a flattering one. He's a reasonably gifted idea man and world-builder, but he sure isn't much of a film-maker.

Episode V is one of my favorite movies, and IV & VI are pretty cool.

But I couldn't stand Episode I, & because I hated it so much I never bothered to see II.

The original had lovable characters that everyone could identify with. The new trilogy does not. That's why it's failing.

Who did we have in the original? Luke, the whiny kid who's good at heart, has lots of potential, and who's whole past is full of tragedy.

Han Solo, the lovable rogue criminal with a heart of gold. Most popular SW character of all time.

Chewbacca, who's like the dog you always wanted only bigger and more badass.

The beautiful and fiesty Princess Leia who manages to be independant without losing any sexiness or feminity.

Lando, the bastard who repents.

Darth Vader, coolest villain ever.

Yoda, the crusty and slightly insane mentor.

Who do we have in the first one?

Qui Gon, the old Jedi who thinks he knows everything but is actually an idiot who's decisions lead to the elimination of an entire intergalactic culture. Ass-face.

Obi-Wan, the passive-agressive wimpy version.

Anakin, the whiny little bitch who has fits because he can't chase after an older woman.

Amidala, frigid pedophile.

And the less said about Jar Jar, the better.

The only two good characters in the entire new trilogy are Yoda and Mace. If the movie totally focued on them, it would be 100% better.

But Amidala is the prettiest frigid pedophile ever.

Except without the white make up all over her face. Yucky.

Ya know, I remember this one time when there was this show on TV entitled "The top 100 movies of all time," all of the Star Wars were in it, however, what made me sick, was that Episode V and VI were on the bottom end of the scale, and Episode I was in the top fucking 20. I mean, the ammount of people who initially saw the film did have something to do with it, but you can't rate something on how many people saw it. That's like saying that Sonic Heroes is one of the best games this year due to the high sales...

Maybe they were rating them by money brought in. That could have been their criteria rather then a subjective review.

Wouldn't they all be higher than top 20. As far as I know, one of the three made it to the top ten I think. Was Titanic anywhere near the top of this list?

Y'know, it's funny. I didn't see the movies until the Special Editions came out. I was a big Trekkie (since recovered) back then, and I kinda felt obliged to see them. So somehow the Vader revelation was a huge surprise to me. Wow, I didn't see that one coming, back in 1997 or something.

It also means I have absolutely zero attachment to the old un-fixed versions. I never saw them. I don't care which explosion is bigger. I don't give a rats who shot first. The Special Editions are all I know, and they're damn cool.

I'm hoping Ep III will be at least as good as the worst of the old ones. I think Lucas can't possibly keep so much negative feedback from digging into his skull. He DID cut back on the gungans in II. All's we need now is for C-3PO to snap Jar-Jar's neck.

By God is does matter who shot first. Damnnit.

Solo shot first! Then the bartender used Greedo's body to make the ultimate alcoholic drink for Jaba!

I didn't know it was specifically for Jabba, I thought whoever came in got it or whatever.

Nah. Just for Jabba, since he has the bling bling, being a gansta slug and all.

It was in "Tales of Mos Eisley Cantina". ;) Which gives you bio stories on about 12 random patrons who were in the Cantina when Luke and Han met.

...So you're saying it's about as pointless as Casey Casem hosting an event?
