Anyone here remember/able to afford Sega Channel? I doubt many would argue it was the greatest Idea in the history of video game ideas. I gave it up for the internet. It was about $50 a month and I LOVEDED IT! And I can't help but wonder if I were to plug it in now, would I have all the games from the last month they did it, or would it have no games? Would it still have the intro of Sonic turning on the power? Would there even be a screen saying "Sega Channel is no longer in service"? I can't help but wonder? Tell me!
I never had it, but I always wanted it. Never saw one either. The service was through TCI, which I believe was absorbed by another company a while back. How did it work? Could you play games you'd downloaded if you unplugged the cable?
No. It was like it's own TV channel and the cable had to be plugged in always. Every month you would get a brand new set of games, and they were complete games, not demos. I think it was 50 every month. There was almost always a "Sonic Classics" category you could go to. But, it was without a doubt the greatest VG idea ever.
I can't possibly put into words how completly...ARRG! No word can describe it! It was like having Christmas every month waiting for the new games! I still have wet dreams about it! And games that my mom wouldn't let me get at that age were all on there! I smell tuna...
