Aww man, those are awesome.

Edit: Since one post bumped them off the last page, I'm including them in quote text.

So I thought for Sonic's 20th I'd do some vignettes of my favorite zones. Been a while since I've done anything sonic related.
Here's a wip

Those are awesome! The colours are lovely, and I think that might be my favourite drawing of Knuckles I've seen in a long time.

Here's a little animation I did recently. Apologies to those with slow internet, I can't embed the swf file in a post so it's a 431kb gif.

This, too, is awesome. Great job on the squashing as he rolls up, especially.

Yeah man, seriously. The little spines while he's spinning could use some work, but it still is totally sweet.

Also very charming vignettes, Rad.

Those spines are actually the only thing I was unsure about. I took them from the Sonic Advance spinning animations, but they don't work so well when it's not a tiny sprite.

finished that one on up. I thought the tiny spines looked great crow. It helps make it look more like someone's unique vision was involved instead of just copying sprite animation and blowing it up.

This is an insider joke for those who have played or at least know Ygddra Union.

Image

Explanation: In Yggdra Union (and its spinoff Yggdra Unison), one of the main characters is a 12 year old, cute mermaid (or “Undine” as per the franchise's canon, however incorrect) who speaks of herself in third person and who, for some incomprehensible reason, is named “Nietzsche”. Yeah, it was just too tempting.
This is actually a remake of something I doodled around the beginning of 2010, but I wanted to redraw it with my improved skills of today, and mimicking Nietzsche's in-game pose.

Awesome as always! I love how you mixed the standard rubber-band feet with the zig-zaggy lightning feet that appear in like one out of every four frames of the intro animation. Was that a conscious reference or just your own stylistic twist?

Must have been subconscious, I don't remember that from the intro! I'd been playing a lot of Shinobi so I thought it would be cool if the loops trailed off into something like the zig-zaggy scarf from that game. :)

Yeah, it's not something you'd ever actually see unless you were looking for it. Mostly people only notice/remember the standard figure-8 shape, but it actually got played with alot in the Sonic CD intro. Here's some example frames.

Either way what you did looks great!
