Things that would cause a Sonic fan to get so angry

I found this link to a thread on the official SEGA message boards and felt I had to share.

Comedy gold.

I was very surprised some of those posts were intelligent . I'd long given up on Sega's message boards.

So Mecha and Metal are different? Has that been confirmed or someting, I never cared enough to find out if that guy at the end of Sonic 2 and that guy near the end of S3&K were both Mecha or other forms of Metal or whatever.

I was always pretty sure that when one version was destroyed Eggman made another.

The Sonic 2 metallic version of Sonic is Silver Sonic. I believe his name was given for the game gear version, and despite the lack of naming in Sonic 2 for the Genesis, we can assume they have the same name. I mean, they're silver robot versions of Sonic and are both in Sonic 2 for there respective systems.

If I'm wrong about this, someone please say so.

Metal Sonic is the one from Sonic CD, Sonic Heroes, and the original Sonic anime.

I think Mecha Sonic is the one from Sonic 2 and Sonic & Knuckles.

Or rather, Mechanical Sonic.

We need a Meta-Mechanica Sonic to up the ante.

The robot we all know and love from Sonic CD, and his later incarnations, is supposed to be "Metal Sonic". Because he's special.

Everything else is just referred to as "Mecha Sonic" or "Mechanical Sonic". Because they're not.

As near as I can figure it, there are three versions of robot Sonics:

1) The gray-colored Sonic that appeared in Sonic 2 and Sonic 2 and Tails.

2) The most popular one - the one that appears in most games - Sonic CD, Sonic Drift 2, Sonic Tripple Trouble, Sonic Heroes

3) The funky, complicated version that appears in Sonic 3K.

They all seem unrelated to eachother.

The only robot Sonic that is actually a "character" is Metal Sonic, so he gets a name and shit. All the others are just "mecha Sonic" or "mechanical Sonic" which really doesn't mean anything more then "robot Sonic." The reason I don't capitalize them is because I see "mecha" more as an adjective then part of a specific name. Just me though.

Didn't the names Mecha and Silver Sonic originate in the Archie comics? That was the first I saw those names....

Silver Sonic was in the US version of the Sonic 2 GG manual, though the Japanese version calls him mecha Sonic. Sonic 2 GG was released prior to the Archie comics, I believe.

All I know is that when sonic was roboticized he was MECHA sonic, and looked like Mecha sonic of Sonic 3k fame. Anyone got pics?

Just contributing with what little knowledge I have left concerning the ol' Archie comics. Deal with it.

And besides, Locit is using the term roboticize in the context of the Archie Sonic comics, so it's not so much that the word Locit used is wrong.
