FFXI

I haven't really been paying to much attention to this forum in the last few days so I didn't notice Gibbons question until just now. That thread now has four pages so I figured I'd just start another since that topic has nothing to do with FFXI anyway.
So to answer your question, my friends bought me a world pass and I've been playing on Asura. I got a Black Mage up to level 20 and now I'm working on my White Mage subclass cause no one wants me in their party without a sub.
Also I swore to myself that after I get sick of it I'm never playing a game like that again. They take up to much time and don't even require much skill. However I know I'll be playing PSU when it comes out (unless it is only on PS2) and if True Fantasy Live Online ever comes out I'll most likely be on it. Damn addicting games.

I got about 30 or 40 hours in on FFXI, but I think I've had my fill. I just turned level 10 and on my last game I found a party for the first time, and it was cool... I even got a few of them on my friends list, including a Mithra with no pants and an oh-so-rare white mage. For strange cosmic reasons, though, I've had no desire to pick it up since then.
I just checked the release date, and apparently True Fantasy is supposed to come out this month. Is that right? I thought it had been pushed back to winter or early next year? This is no good, if it comes out anytime this summer or early fall, I probably won't have time to play it much. If I buy the game and it's good, I just won't have the will power to not play it, and I'm in the home stretch at school so that's too important to neglect at this point.
Man, fuck everything. Just fuck it all.

Well I got really into being a Black Mage at around level 9 when I started partying. I got up to level 20, which is when my friends say the game really gets good (even though I had been having fun from 9 on), but then everyone wanted me to have a subclass or they wouldn't let me in their party. I wanted to have a Summoner sub, but you can't unlock it until 30 so I figured I'd level a white mage up to 11 and use that is a sub until I got to 30. Now my white mage is level 10 and I have pretty much no desire to play anymore. I may play a bit more before my free month is up, but I doubt I'll pay.
And about TFLO, I seriously doubt it is coming out any time soon.

Is FFXI more like PSO, or is it still turn-based crap?

It's actually an MMORPG, which means it's like Everquest.

I was comparing a pile of crap to a smaller pile of crap, really.

Dude, did you even play either one?

Yeah, but I don't own them, I just play on other people's accounts. I was just being snarky for the sake of being snarky. I do that. There's nothing wrong with either game, really; EQ is infested with morons, which I'm sure will happen to FFXI soon enough, but that's besides the point.

Uhh, no...

It was going to be the console massively multiplayer online RPG to rule them all. Yet, it was nowhere to be found at E3 2004. The game was shaping up to be another fine Level-5 product that would rock the online-console world, but unexpected delays and the wild success of Final Fantasy XI may have caused Microsoft to feel that it needs something even slicker for TFLO to succeed.
Releasing such a huge online game is not cheap, and I'd guess that Microsoft has already invested too much to let this one go away. Plus, I'm super confident that the developer will release something that will impress. To paraphrase John McEnroe, if TFLO isn't released I will stand on my head.
I'll be surprised if this game makes it out this year.

Okay, that's what I thought. Just wanted to make sure it was EB's release list that was behind and not me.
I also noticed Front Mission 4's supposed to come out this month. So what's the consensus on that?
