I called it.

Astro Boy's price has been lowered from a ridiculous 49 bucks to a measly 20 dollars. Who saw that one coming?

I did, bitch.

I almost picked up a copy, but since money is tight, I'd wait for two weeks or so. I really liked the demo. Imagine a cross between Megaman and NiGHTs with some Sonic thrown in for good measure.

It's better than Sonic Heroes and any of the latest MM games.

But I decided to get a used GBA game instead. I got a perfectly good copy of Advance Wars 2 for only 17 bucks at Gamestop. It was a choice between the AW1 and AW2. They were both the same price. AW2 was obviously in better condition. I'm miffed that it came with no instructions since unlike AW1, it has no training mode.

But according to GameFaqs, it's basically AW1 with the training mode replaced with extra maps, campaigns, and characters.

Oh, that's the other big news - first of all, does anyone have a DS?

Second of all, since the DS was released, all of Gamestop's used GBA games have been lowered in price by about 5 bucks each. Final Fantasy Tactics Advance was $30 USED last week, but today it was $25. I guess it's no longer valuable since it's "obsolete".

Just a head's up. If there's a used GBA game you've been wanting, now might be the time to go out and get it. Used GBA games are all I'm asking for at Christmas. None of the new console games interest me. Metroid Prime 2, Jak 3, Sly 2, Paper Mario 2 (I've heard Mario and Luigi is better anyways), R&C 3, VJ 2 (which is supposedly almost the same game, but with Silvia tweaked to be more useful on her own) . . . not one of them truly interests me.

Although I'm excited about Starfox Armada (if only the characters were humans instead of furries. Furries give me the creeps.).

Anyways, my birthday is 13 days after Christmas, so it all works out if I only get a couple of GBA games.

But these characters were furries before it was cool to bash furries.

Oh and I heard great things about the GBA Astro Boy and between the PS2 game and that one, you should spend your money on the GBA game instead.

I should, but I already played through the ROM in Japanese. It doesn't have much replay value, although there are a lot of secrets and easter eggs.

I've played a lot of GBA games via emulator, and usually the only ones I end up buying are the longer ones, with extra secrets I usually don't have the patience to look for on my PC. Thus, most of the games I'm getting in real-life tend to be long RPGs. Which I think suit the GBA better than action games.

Why? Most RPG's and strategy games have a lot of information to display, and the GBA's screen is like, really small. Admittedly the earlier RPGs had to make do with this and they were just as good as the modern ones, though...

...Damn. Just answered my own question. Don't mind me.

Did they change Starfox Armadas name to Starfox Assault, or is that a seperate game?

Advance Wars is a little creepy. You can tell the characters were designed from a Japanese perspective.

Sure, we have the Orange Star - which is a gung-who group of young do-gooders based on America.

But we also have Blue Moon - which is Soviet Russia.

Yellow Star - which is obviously WWII Imperial Japan.

And the most creepy of all - Green Earth. Heroic, anime versions of Nazis.

That's just freaky.

I'm a loser baby, so why don't you kill me?
Oh calm down. I'm only talking about the porn. However, the porn has kind of poisoned my mind when it comes to anthropomorphic animals. I really don't feel comfortable playing or watching anything with them if they're TOO human.

Besides, as long as you don't actually think you're some kind of animal, you're just some guy who likes to watch humanoid animals screw. And that's not as bad as thinking that you're a badger or whatever.

I'm not sure. I'm just desperate for a really good flying game.

While the appearence of the StarFox characters ocassionally give me the heebee-jeebees - I appreciate their personalities and the team dynamic they have.

Which is why I hate Krystal. She REALLY doesn't fit on the team. If they wanted to add a female character to replace Peppy, I would've prefered one of the other female characters that never made it into a completed StarFox game - Faye (The haughty southern belle poode), Miyu (the fiesty lady Lynx), or Lady/Pharah (Playful hotshot female pilot).

Any of them fit the SF team dynamic more than some mystical intergalactic witch who suddenly decided to fly a plane with some mercenaries she encountered once.

Let's see: The first two were aborted before they even had a chance to prove themselves, but I don't know that third one. It sounds like Fara, as in Fara Phoenix the one-shot love interest who appeared in that Nintendo Power comic strip.

And what, no mention of Kat?

Honestly, they went with Krystal because: a) she's new and more people would likely recognize her; b) she's BLUE.

It's all about aesthetics.

Whoops. I haven't read it in a long time. And actually, she WAS a playable character in a VERY early build of the StarFox 2 2-player mode. ;) She was later replaced with Faye and Miyu.

Is that a good thing, or a bad thing? All I know is that I'm having a good time crushing my enemies.

She's a fun character 'cause she's unpredictable. Put her on a team and that takes away from a lot of it. Kind of like it did for Rouge in Sonic Heroes.

So's Falco. If they wanted to keep the Yellow (Fox), Green (Slippy), Blue (Falco), and Red (Peppy) aesthetic - they should've gotten some red-haired character. As it is, we've got a double shot of blue. One of yellow, and one of green.

It's just funny to see some primitive tribeswoman/mystic suddenly flying a space fighter simply because she was rescued by some guy who had one.

It'd be like having an astronaut marry a primitive cavewoman and then deciding to put her behind the controls of a space station just because he thinks she's pretty.

But a red haired character would just double up red with Peppy.

They need someone to replace Peppy. He's been kicked out of the team because he's too old. I wish I was joking.

Who likes old farts? He was probably passing gas all the time or pissing himself in the cockpit. I'm sure nobody liked cleaning that mess up.

I always assumed there were bathrooms in the Arwings. You can't pull over for a pee in the middle of a three-hour dogfight.

Maybe they just hook tubes straight up to the... "elimination" areas and use it as fuel. Or just dump it all over whoever's standing below.

Yes. It is being called Starfox Assault.

And I thought Peppy was middle-aged. That's not that old to be kept off the team. =/

He was, but StarFox Adventures takes place 8 years after StarFox 64, making Peppy fairly old.

And since Nintendo is stupidly going along with Rare's dumb ideas about the SF universe, by SFAssault, he's ancient.

The name Armada is way cooler than Assault. Oh and if they are gonna get rid of anyone it should be Slippy. That fucker is annoying.

Armada had a grand feeling to it, though, like you were going to take out millions of ships. Assault sounds like, well, ground focused non-vehicle play of some sort. But they wouldn't pull that, would they????
