When Parents Go On Holiday

That's right Mum, Dad, I'll miss you awfully. Take care now. Enjoy your time in the sun while I'm at home all alone and unhappy. Ho hum.

PARTY TIME.
My dinner for the next ten days will be beer, pizza and cigars. Life is sweet.
So you guys, who of you have ever had a free house, and what shenanigans took place?
P.S. Sorry for the shit picture quality.

The furniture got rearranged so I could set up a LAN party more easily and that's about it. I'm not into the whole poisoning my body for a cheap thrill thing.

Mostly I finally got some peace and quiet, and got to watch what I wanted to watch on TV. My parents aren't terribly strict, so if I wanted pizza and bear and cigars for supper, they probably wouldn't care. Or even notice.
Of course, I'm a legal adult so I do lots of things they don't 'notice'.

I just go on the internet and download even more porn when they are gone. Spend my nights wacking off to some mpegs and BangBus episodes... and eat a lot of can food.
Damn. My life fuckin' sucks. Oh, well.

Games, games, movies, games, games, games.
Oh, and now that I can drive, it's a lot more interesting when they go out of town.

Hm...
I found if I carefully arrange the furniture in my house, I can cause my guitar to echo through the ventilation.
I also found out that this is also good for scaring birds out of said air ducts.

My family is going to Disney World in February for a week during the Mardi Gras holiday, and I'm staying home so I can go to an Anime con around here that only lasts three days. The rest of the time, I've got the place all to mah'self! You're all invited to come and, as the children say, "raise the roof!"
Oh wait, most of ya'll will probably all have school! =P

Since I'm home alone almost all the time (I graduated from High School and I'm currently not in college), I just sit on my ass drawing, going online, and playing video games (my main addiction is Jak 3 right now), among others like...napping because I like to sleep.
Isn't my life just exciting?

I'm rarely ever home alone anymore. Even when my parents go out, all or some of my three siblings usually stay. On the rare instances when they all go off on some family trip, I generally just enjoy the quiet. Sometimes I'll invite a couple of friends over for a night or so, but that usually gets to be a problem with school/jobs because I live out of town and none of them know how to get here or back.
So yeah... nothing really changes much in my day-to-day life, except I'm in the same boat as SuperKnux, I just download even more porn than usual. And eat Spaghetti-O's every single day.

Does... does anyone here not live with their parents? I mean, besides people who are temporarily away while they are in school?

Dude, 4 and a half of the 5 and a half years I've spent in college have come out of my own pocket. And that's on part-time income. SO SUCK IT.

I live in my own, personal, mobile home. But my parents live right down the road, within a 7-minute walk or so.
I don't have a job, either. I get the rent free because my family owns the whole hill.

I'm living with the parents for now, but things are already in motion for some friends and I to get an apartment next school year.
Then, it will be freedom (to pay my own bills and rent and other shit I never used to think about)!
But it'll still be freedom.
ANYway, Esrever, if you don't mind me askin', how old are you? How old were you when you moved out? Are you still in school? Do you work (outside of your webcomic duties)?
I don't mean to be intrusive, I'm just curious since it seems like you
are the only one currently living sans parents.

Oh, don't get me wrong, Gibbon! I was in the same situation when I was in college, paying for tuition by working and living at home with my folks for free.
Sorry, Grant, but I didn't mean to imply that I had moved out yet, either. I gradded in April, but I'm still living with my folks... but paying full rent. It was an experiment. I'm 22, and I'm working a bit less than 20 hours a week as the graphic designer for
Yes Mag (though it was the previous designer, incidently, that made that fugly website). I wanted to see if I could match my magazine income with the money I earn from my webcomic's shirts and commission work. See if I can piece together a full time salary and live off of it comfortably. And of course, the advantage of living at home was that if it didn't work, I wouldn't have to worry about being kicked out for not making rent.
Fortunately, as it turned out, I CAN live off of what I'm making, so I'll probably be moving out early in the new year. I think I need to get a car first, which is a scary investment, but I think I should be able to get a used car in the $4000-6000 range without killing myself.
But seriously, isn't there at least ONE of us who has permanently moved out already? We all suck. Oh well, maybe I will be the first! ^_^

I live on my own on a university campus (well, in a flat/apartment with 5 others), although I'm sustained by parental income.

Very cool.
It still sounds like you're still the only one actually even
close to actually moving out, though!

I live in a college dorm, but my parents are paying for it until I get off my ass and get a scholarship. I go back to my house every month or so though for a weekend, and I'm gonna live there in the summer.

I was good little boy last time my parents were on holiday. Many people (mostly little brats) wanted a party round my house but i told them where to shove it. Did have one night of beer and a showing of Battle Royale with a couple of mates, but that was it. Then the rest of the night was just me listening to The The. Happy days...

I guess I'm the only other person living away from family here, Esrever. I'm just about to start moving to a new job in San Mateo. But even though I'm making money, I'm still cheap as hell.

Well, I live about a 14 hour flight away from my home, so I'm kinda out. But like everyone else... I still get living expenses paid. However, when I graduate (hopefully with enough fluency in French and Japanese and other buttkicking skills), I want to go back to Asia and get me a really hot job. Such as... oh, I dunno. I don't plan on going back home to live.
