Seimu Sonic Manga Scans

If anyone's interested, I have a photocopy of one of the infamous Seimu mangas that Mr. Sanasi had in his posession.
Wait, what is that? Is that related to the Shogakukan manga?
I have no clue, but seeing as someone finally showed an interest in this, I thought I'd post it in it's entirety. In a new topic, no less.

Anyway, I came about this photocopy, as I said, when I traded some old "Sonic & Knuckles" brand figurines (which are awful in quality, aside from the Knuckles figure, which I lost), for the Sonic Mega CD soundtrack, which I did not possess, as a hard copy, at the time.

I hadn't asked directly for the photocopy, if my memory serves me, but Alessandro Sansai is infamous for giving away little extras in his trades. Certainly, this is how one of my friends came across the "HISTORY OF SONIC" and "SONIC PANIC" videos, after finding them taped on the end of some subbed Sonic OAV tapes.

Anyway, here they are now, presented here in all their glory, as a "GHZ exclusive". Enjoy.

The smaller version (100 dpi, 2.40mb zipped)

(Excuse the change in quality in the "small" scans, from page 14 onwards, but I did leave a huge gap between scanning and converting. Hope this isn't too much of a bother.)

Some page highlights:

Image
Profiles - Full of lots of interesting (and not so interesting) information.

Image
Page full of Japanese. I assume this is a brief synopsis of these games.

Image
Burning Rangers page. I assume it gives information on how the game is going, or commentary on released concept art. Or something.

Image
"ATOGAKI - Cool Running". What I assume to be one of the first "Sonic as a human" projects.

Image
Because Knuckles as a totem pole is funny, obviously.

Actually this is not an official book by any means, it's a doujinshi from Comiket. All that text is more than likely just fan-gushing.

Already noted, but you know, it could be gushing about prototype screenshots or whatever.

God, ginjinkas freak me out. They're like - furries.

In reverse.

Oh, and "Mails"?

And shouldn't Metal Sonic ya know - be a robotic human. And not . . . just a regular human?

Hence the NAME?

Maybe he goes around listening to Black Sabbath and Iron Maiden and constantly throws up 'The Horns' around Sonic.

It'd be nice if Japanese kids didn't draw everything all the fucking same. The so called "anime/maga style".

Or maybe he bites the head off a robot bat?

That would make for a 'fookin awesome' character.

Until we find out he has a bunch of adorable widdle dogs that he wuvs with all his heart. And then he has a stroke from over-dosing on electricity.

And then we find out that Metal Sonic has a bitchy little daughter who thinks she can sing, and a fat goofy son.

I despise reality television.

Well, I'd like to point out that he DID kill 16 cats on one of his 'electricity' binges.

Bastard. Cats kick the ass of dogs SO hard. Cats are adorable fluffy bundles of grace and wuv.

And dogs are like too-friendly, gigantic rats with poor manners.

Just my opinion.

Anyways, I've seen better Sonic ginjinkas. Ones in which Knuckles actually has dread-locks and looks like a burly, pissed-off tribesman with gigantic fists. As he should.

Hey - I just realized "Knockles".

That warms the "knockles" of my heart. Hee.

I'd be really fightened to see a humanized version of "Big" or "Charmy". I would guess that a human Big would look like Marvel Comic's "The Blob" - but with a fishing pole and in a purple jumpsuit.

And Charmy - well, there's no way you could convert his levels of explosive homosexuality into a drawing of a human.

Hee hee. "Knockles."

From what I gather from all the Sonic human fancharz I've ever seen on deviantArt, Metal Sonic as a human is just a guy with blue hair. But it's a bit of a dark blue. And his eyes are so brown they're almost red. You see, these people using their "imaginations" feel so constrained making Sonic into a human that they'll gladly have him running at Mach 1 as long as his hair is within the reasonable bounds of modern styling techniques.

No wait, I'm being absurd. They only ever draw static poses for fangirls and never consider the physical implications of such a character in the human world. Silly me.

On a lighter note, Ozzy totally lives, like, 20 minutes from my house - at least, when he's not living in the US. That's pretty cool. He goes into my girlfriend's work sometimes. He's so dark.

To be fair, not many other super-speedsters adhere to the laws of thermodynamics or physics. See: Quicksilver, Flash, Speedy Gonzales, Road Runner, Impulse. Etc.

Still, even a humanoid Sonic should have razor-sharp lines of quills running down his back. So he can actually attack by spinning. Sonic without his quills is just a shorter, weaker, blue Flash.

The real question is - how would a human Tails keep his powers? Four arms that spin like propellers? Gigantic, double, rotating wangs?

Gigantic, double, rotating wangs?
Oh you'd love that, wouldn't you.

The obvious answer is: he has tails anyway. Cat people are kawaii mew mew, so why not kitsune* people?

* WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG DEATH HATE AAAARGH

If Tails was an actual traditional kitsune, that would make him 200 years old - 100 years for each tail.
Oh you'd love that, wouldn't you.
Maybe. If he was older and less girly.

The spines are irrelevant. When you have anything as massive as Sonic (35kg) or greater moving at the speed of sound, you have the KE-equivilant of a tank round. The recoil alone from such an impact would break every bone in your body and turn you into a puddle of goop. The spines aren't going to make it any deadlier.

Yeah, but it takes him a while to build up that much speed. And a lot of rings. In a hand-to-hand fight in a limited area, Sonic would only really have the edge if he had spines - which would allow for an instant close-range attack that wouldn't require a massive build-up of kinetic energy.

It depends on the universe you are talking about. In the anime he builds up maximum speed by his first footfall.

I just realized that I am arguing the physics of a human version of a video game character. That qualifies me as a loser by default.

In other news, assuming Metal Sonic has 100% efficiency in both engines, he can accelerate to the speed of sound in 24.8 seconds.

I was thinking of the most recent games - chiefly.

Realistically speaking, (but not TOO realistically) what would be a healthier way for Sonic himself to attack?

Assuming that he had a level of invulnerability to at least mostly protect him from the force of his acceleration and most impacts induced by sudden stops - would he be more likely to be injured running straight up - rolling into a ball? I would think that the compact ball manuever would make his attacks more precise, and possibly even increase their force.

Speaking of which - considering the speed he runs at, his muscles must be ridiculously strong. I wonder how much his legs could bench-press? The enourmous strength and forces the constantly fight against without shattering - he should have the ability to kick through solid stone while standing.

At least.

He does that shit in Sonic CD. The rolling wouldn't increase his force any, but it would confine the area of impact. It would be the same force over a lesser area meaning better penetration (not that he needs it because realistically anything that massive traveling that fast would punch through most any foe). In other words it would improve his sectional density.

Spinning would however be useful if he were to jump at his foe. If he is going to be in contact with the ground he can maintain his top speed by running, if he rolls, he cannot pickup speed unless he spin dashes in place and even then he cannot maintain it. If he jumps in the air though, his "ball" form would not decelerate as fast as his normal form. So for aerial attacks the spinning would be a slight advantage. Though, when you are talking about these velocities, it is still altogether irrelevant.

This leads me to a question though. Are his spikes actually that sharp? I mean they seem to have a "hair-like" consistency in SA2 and Heroes.
