Saturn recommendations

Since you guys praise the Saturn, I've went and bought one, and I was wondering what games you would recomend I try out that aren't named "Night's into Dreams," because I already plan on getting that, so, fire away!

BTW is an analog pad necessary for a "complete" experience of Nights?

Duh:
Sonic Jam
Sonic R
Sonic 3D Blast (Sonic 3D: Flickies' Island)
Burning Rangers
Christmas NiGHTS

Seriously though, my Saturn NetLink is useless as well right now. Besides the obvious ones, the only non-Sonic Team related game I know I like is Daytona 500.

All of the Panzer Dragoons. Obviously.

Enemy Zero, if you can get past the initial adjustment bumps
Vampire Hunter

Astal is a cool game if you can find it.

Guardian Heroes, Silhouette Mirage, Grandia, Clockwork Knight 2, Shining Force III, Willy Wombat, Fighters Megamix, all of the Panzer Dragoons, Burning Rangers... probably more that escape me at the moment.

Willy Wombat? I've never heard of that one.

Yes.

Fighters Megamix.
Duke Nukem 3D + Quake -- so you can unlock the hidden Deathtank Zwei game.
Saturn Bomberman.
Panzer Dragoon Saga if you can afford it.
Baku Baku Animal.
Last Bronx.
Radiant Silvergun if you can afford it and you going to mod.
Vampire Savior if you're going to mod.
Pretty much every Capcom fighter that came out on the system.

All the good ones have been mentioned, especially NiGHTS, Guardian Heroes, Burning Rangers, and Panzer Dragoon Zwei.

I recomend Gun Griffon 2, Bulk Slash, and Assault Suits Leynos 2 if you like da mechas. And can play imports.

Willy Wombat? I've never heard of that one.
Most people haven't. It was only released in Japan, but the dialogue was all in English. It was a neat, simple, isometric platform/action game from Hudson with a cool setting akin to a somewhat more mature Darkwing Duck. The character design, I believe, was done by the guy who does the Famitsu cover art and the Maximo characters. (If it isn't him, it's in a very similar style.)

The music was ace.

Duh:
Sonic Jam
Sonic R
Sonic 3D Blast (Sonic 3D: Flickies' Island)
Burning Rangers
Christmas NiGHTS
Sonic 3D blast kind of pushes it, though. Also, its nigh impossible to get Christmas NiGHTS, except on EbAY for gratuitous amounts of cash.

That's one cool Saturn.

Me thinks you spend too much time on EBay, however.

I have this copy of Sonic Jam here I bought off ebay awhile back, and it will continue to collect dust until the day that Saturn emulation is up to par

Only difference betwen JP and US/EU versions is the speech during the intro/ending and some of the text. That's it. Go buy it, now. The seller's reliable.

I never owned a Saturn but I did live in Florida for two years. With season passes to The Happiest Place on Earth, I would often to go Innovations at Epcot Center for the weekend and just have blast playing all the SEGA games that I couldn't afford. One game that truly delighted me was Bug! and it's sequal.

The maggot dog fucking rules.

Why did I buy Bug!? I'm glad I never got the sequel.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, I'm thinking of getting Night's or Burning Rangers first since they appear to be fine work from the Sonic Team we once had. I'm also considering getting Mega Man X3 since the Saturn seems to be the cheapest and most common format that it's on.
Also, its nigh impossible to get Christmas NiGHTS, except on EbAY for gratuitous amounts of cash.
It never goes for too much when I see it, but maybe the Eu versions more common. And maybe I'll get Panzer Dragoon Saga with my Christmas money. Maybe.

You definitely want Fighters Megamix.

Panzer Dragoon Saga is one of the best games I've ever played, and I (famously) don't even usually like RPGs. It's really accessible, totally unique and phenomenally absorbing. The graphics have dated, but the sheer depth and ease of the combat makes it every bit as playable now as I'm presuming it was back then. I'm not entirely convinced it's worth the £100+ going price, however, especially when passable Saturn emulation seems just around the corner. Maybe.

I'd also like to stress the brilliance of Sonic Jam. It's the definitive 2D Sonic collection, and, unlike Mega Collection, it's packed to the gills with special features and lovely presentation.

The best thing about the Saturn, though, is its boot-up animation. I don't think anything since has matched that magical 'twee-diddle-dee-shbingle shpange... SHUM' sound effect. I think.

Gamecube. Shoomph. Doodle doodle doodle doodle doodle doodloodoodleooDOO-- DUM.

So there.

Everyone's said all the good games, I think. There's a shit ton of cool Japanese-only titles, but I don't know what most of them are called and I doubt you could get hold of them anyway.

More video game systems need a chunky spaceship in the background.

Also... I've heard many good things about Lunacy/Torico (with most of the complaints being limited to the fact that it's graphic adventure). If you can get yourself through D, Lunacy's well worth the time.

It is rather hard to find, but I've seen it on eBay every now and then.

Meh, GameCube's more like "doodle doodle roll we're happy!" while Saturn's more like "sparkle sparkle ShoooooOOOM we're badass you suck for not buying more of this"...

And yeah, that category includes me. =(
