Anybody ever been to/live in San Francisco?

I was just thinking of taking a trip there and I was wondering what it's like.

I don't know. But I'm pretty sure I'm religiously required to make a pilgrimage to there at least once in my life.

I don't have religion, and I can barely pronounce 'pilgrimage', but I should go there at least once in my life, too.

I'd like to go to Tokyo as well, but I don't know Japanese, so that's out until I can memorize this hiragana and katakana shit...

San Francisco has a couple of things worth seeing:

1) China Town
2) Rice
3) Streetcars
4) Big Bridge
5) Lots and lots of gay people

So if you want to get the complete experience, ride a streetcar across a bridge while watching a chinese gay guy eat rice.

Reminds me of something Robin Williams used in his show, Live from Broadway:

"On one end of the bridge is a hummer and two guardsmen, on the OTHER is a hummer and two guardsmen. The problem is, the hummer and the soldiers are in jungle camouflage. For those who have never been to San Francisco, the bridge is bright orange."

I forget the rest, but the whole thing is funny.

You mean <a href="http://www.ricearoni.com/">Rice-A-Roni</a>?

It's the San Francisco treat, y'know.

Not a big fan of rice.

And how can Rice-A-Roni be the San Francisco treat if rice is fuckin' Chinese? Wouldn't it be the Beijing treat?

It's made by an American company. America is not China. Therefore.

Oh. Well, with all the Chinatowns in this Godforsaken country, I got confused.

But then again, what do you know? You're a horrid pompous wench. AND you're from New Hampshire. WHO (besides you, of course) is from New Hampshire? I'm lucky I know the state capitol, let alone know it's even in the Union.

While I wasn't born there, I spent most of my younger years (ages 3 - 9) in New Hampshire.

<a href="http://www.areaconnect.com/population.htm?s=NH">There are over a million people in NH as of 2002</a>. Which isn't as much as, say, <a href="http://www.areaconnect.com/population.h ... ">Texas</a>, but it's certainly more than just me.

Most people don't know the names of all 50 states and can't point most states out on the map, so I'm really not surprised.

And, as j-man also pointed out, it's <i>pmpous</i>.

I remember taking this National Geograpic test once and they had a world map. Each ocean had a number on it and they asked which number was the Pacific. Apparently 70% of American teenagers got it right. That means that 30% did not know what the biggest thing on the planet was.

I could drive you around the city from my Crazy Taxi experience, but you might want to wear a seat belt.
