Fable is out. So has anyone picked it up yet? What's the verdict?

I'm waiting for my next paycheck. I guess. I have so many games to buy, it's not funny. Darn you, school.

I have it. I'm only a couple of hours into it, and it's pretty boring right now.

The most exciting things so far are the ability to fart and punch little girls in the face.

Farting is good. I was once designing this action RPG where there'd be a designated "fart" button, and farting would cause different reactions in various situations.

On PRISONER ISLAND!

I have it. It's alright, though I'm only about an hour into it. Whisper's annoying the hell out of me, though.

I'm having more fun now. I am randomly cutting people's fucking heads off during battles now, and it's cool.

And do everything you can to meet that guy's daughter in Bowerstone when you get there, she's hot ;).

It's not out here yet, but I really want it. It's a curious want, though, not a lustful one: I don't think it's going to be great, but it might be, and I'm desperate to find out.

There's something about the whole aesthetic that bugs me, though. It's so... British.

Yeah, it is. They spell "practice" with an "s" and everything. I spent damn near a ten minutes trying to figure out what a "jetty" is. It's also sort of a gaudy looking game, and maybe it's just me but I'm suddenly having some framerate issues in towns with a lot of people.

And everyone has this annoying sort of cockney accent. They also call you a "chicken chaser" when you're starting out. I swear, I'm going to obliterate the entire town of Bowerstone when I become more powerful.

On a humorous sidenote, they show little hearts above the heads of women who are attracted to you, and then out of nowhere I see this guy carrying a crate around with a little heart above his head as well. I'm hot shit.

Alright, I did a lot of playing today (Faked illness, because I hate English.), and now I'm flirting with the Mayor(ess). It's great fun.

There's censored sex, according to what I've read.

I think it's mostly implied. Trying to woo this damn woman for 10,000 gold. Then I can go back to the woman who loves me, despite the fact that I have a habit of beating people who look at me funny.

I was hoping you could kill the children, and I haven't been to a town where I've been able to have a weapon out near a kid, but I found that I can't target the chickes, so the children might be the same. I can kick the chickens, sure, but I can't strike them with my sword.

Holy Shit, I missed that show. Where did you get that screencap, GG? It's hard to find Samurai Pizza Cat screenshots (so far, I've only found one website which hosts quite a number).

I can't even afford armor right now, so I don't think I've played enough to judge the game to any extent beyond this: asides from fucking with people, the first couple of hours or so aren't exciting or engrossing. In fact, the story is fucking retarded so far, and combat is pretty much just hack-and-slash.

I'm hoping that the story will pick up and the depth of how your character progresses as well as more interesting quests will save the game for me.

I noticed a distinct proliferation of beards on the character art. That kind of turned me off the game on the whole, believe it or not.

The white part is pretty much a given, though - unfortunately. I can't think of a single game in which the main character WASN'T caucasian or asian. Well, except the Matrix games.

And the stupid thing is that it would only take about 30 seconds to add some more skin textures to an adjustable palette that players could choose from.

Would Crazy Taxi count? One of the drivers you could choose was a black guy.

I think going out of their way to make the game politically correct would be even more absurd. Being that Fable seems to take place in a medieval European setting, anything other than a white male would be out of place.

Actually, the designers <I>were</I> developing the game with the choice of playing a female (the hero's sister), but decided to scrap it due to the insane amount of extra work it would have added (thousands of new lines of voice acting and such).

Who knows, maybe in a sequel. God forbid.
