I've made Atomic Toast!

Mmmm... MDK 2. I never played it when it was released on the Dreamcast, but I did snag it for a low price on the PC, and though it had a few hideously frustrating moments (a lot of Hawkins' stuff, Max's platform-jumping, and whatnot), the story was hilarious, the graphics beautiful, the music memorable, and the gameplay (at least for Kurt and most of Max's levels) truly inspired stuff. The voice acting alone remains a reason to play through the whole game. And at least they made an honest attempt to make the different gamestyles both different and fun (something that can't quite be said for, say, SA2)...

That said... I've sadly never gotten a chance to play the original MDK. I know the basics of Kurt's game by now (coil suit, sniper gun, and strafing) and I know that the gameplay mechanics for Hawkins and Max are new to MDK 2. Is MDK any better in comparison, though? Is the game longer? The story just as funny? Eh, eh?

I dunno, I never played the first MDK either. From what I remember, it was a pretty ugly 3rd-person shooter game with some platform elements, as in just Kurt. Which it was. I'm not making much sense anymore.

But yeah, MDK2 was great. And hard.

Isn't just about every game from that era ugly now?

And MDK2 is great... and way too hard in some places. The PC version has a 'save anytime' function, which helps a lot in some of the more hellish parts (bomb defusion).
