So I was browsing Kotaku earlier today, and I came across this little gem.

Now, I'm one of those "first=best" types when it comes to any sort of MMPR discussion, but the concept of Power Rangers: SPACE PIRATES! just seems both hilarious and awesome to me, mainly because I don't think it's ever been done before (in this SPECIFIC way, don't go shoving One Piece and Harlock down my throats). To my knowledge, it's all been animals or generic rescue squads or SPAAAAAAAACE or specific Asian-y stuff (i.e. ninjas and samurai and tae-bo(?)).

Seriously, Space Pirates! Or Sky Pirates, whichever.

Freaking Pirates now? I remember the good old days when they were good, wholesome, and rode giant dinosaurs.

I got into this show a couple of months ago. These are by far my favourite super sentai designs, but I've always been partial to pirates. They can transform into any of the rangers from the previous 34 teams too!

The whole show is like a cinema sized bag of Skittles.

Not a beard or eyepatch betwixt the five of 'em. Yargh.

Why do I see this Gokaiger shit everywhere I go on the internet? It can't be that good.

I refuse to take an interest in Power Rangers for fear that I'll enjoy it.

They need to just end the franchise after this. No other concept is going to be able to top it, period. They are flying superpowered pirates with a robot parrot and a pirate ship that turns into a giant robot pirate. That is too much awesome for anyone to handle.
