1. Go to the Wayback Machine.
2. Look up what I believe is the oldest incarnation of the GHZ archived (http://ghz.emulationzone.org/)
3. Go to the earliest page archive.
4. Go to the forum.
5. Click on a thread.
6. You can never go back.

You didn't even link to the Wayback Machine so I'm too lazy to do it myself. But not too lazy to type up this reply.

Here, you lazy bum.

In a way, it's pretty interesting to read the post in the front page and pinpoint the exact moment when the Sonic series started going straight to hell. I know that a lot of people never cared much for Sonic Adventure 2 (myself included), but I also remember being excited about Heroes and then discovering the terrifying truth. That and I miss GG's analyses, but I can't really blame him for not doing them anymore.

There was also a sort of character melee or something going on a few years back. It had Pengo and Popcorn's mom, among others. That was cool.

This would be awesome if it weren't for the browser crashing and stealth porn links. Still wonder what the final moments of the collective subsidiaries of the recently deceased Gamespy/Classicgaming were like; some were quite active but understandably unwilling to jump to new servers.

Woah where did that spoiler come from? I am certain I didn't put that in myself.

Either I'm going crazy or somebody had some fun with my post.

Since this gives me an excuse to wax nostalgia...

I was thinking of waiting until another GHZ birthday, but that's months away. So yeah. Because I had some free time, I put together this thing. I'm not sure just how many people will care, but I figured, why not? Yes, there's a lot of it pulled from archive.org, but there's also content there which I had/found on the Internet. And things that people just happened to still have. Yes, there are some things missing, but it is the Internet. It happens.

Green Gibbon!'s fan-fiction wrote:Sonic: "Arigato, Knuckles-san! How much do we owe ya?"

Knuckles: "Forget it, it's on me."

Sonic: "Glad you said that, 'cause we don't have any money..."

Tails giggles at that last comment while munching on a bread stick.

GG's fic is still better than where the series is now. If they made that into a game, would I get to control how Tails eats the bread stick using my Wii remote?

There is a loud rap on the door. Green Gibbon! rolls over in his bed, clasping tightly onto his Sonic plushie.

GG!: 'Mmm...Honey...'

The rapping continues, followed by shouting.

VOICE: 'Gibbon! Get up, I need to talk to you!'

GG! groggily opens one eye and checks the Sonic alarm clock on the side of his bed. It's 10:30 A.M.

GG!: 'What is this, it's not even eleven A.M. yet!'

VOICE: 'Double G, it's me, Bo! It's really important!'

GG!: 'Bo? Oh, fer the love of Robotnik...'

"Oh, fine, ruin all my fun." She smiled, and put out her hand. "Truce." Sonic
reached out, but instead of shaking her hand, he pushed her over.
"AH HA, SIKE!" Delphine stood up.
"You little..." She stumbled and fell back under. Instead of immediately coming
back up, she tripped Sonic, then sat up. Sonic fell forward.
"WHOA!"
"AH!"
Sonic grabbed a root before he fell onto her.
"Sorry."
"Sorry."
Sonic looked her in the eyes. She looked back.
"Sonic..." Sonic blinked at her and suddenly came back to reality. He pulled
himself up all the way, then helped her up.
"... C'mon. let's get back to Knothole."
"All right."
AH HA, SIKE!

Nice compilation thar, Mr. Lurker. Also, it's not lost on me that that's something of a fansite fansite which is not to say that the GHZ's storied history isn't worth documenting, but is kind of amusing just the same. ;P

Ryan Drummond or someone for him wrote:Just finished recording 90% of the lines for SONIC SHUFFLE this past week, and once Sega gets a handle on that, we'll start looking into SA2. Sega's happy with all their voice choices this time around, so you should be hearing the same people for the next few games at least. Consistency is GOOD! That's what I keep telling them. :)
