How the hell does this work? Can any of you tech kiddies explain this to me?

Cool. My guess is that the cartridge has a sensor like WarioWare Twisted!, and the game changes the camera angle depending on how you're holding it.
lol disregard that I totally missed "dsiware"

Maybe it uses the camera to detect motion?

Explains how it works, albeit this one uses actual visual instead of infared. The guy's working on Natal right now.

That's totally different from this pop-up book thing though, isn't it?
And I still don't understand it.

No, it uses the same type of ideas, just tracking an actual head with regular light instead of two infared sources. The game determines where your head is based off of the camera (I would imagine you have to align your head to an on-screen prompt whenever you start playing), and causes the image to change depending on where your head would be.
It is different, but only in execution. The concept is the same.

Or is the question "what the hell is this game about?" It looks like you peer around in "3D" trying to reveal certain characters? It doesn't sound very interesting.

Sounds awesome to me. I loved the riddles in Arkham Asylum that were about making the "?" in the right angle.
Best use I've seen for the useless DSi camera.

Well, it's only 500 yen.

One game, 500 yen. Sure, I'll play it once.

Well, I tried it. The face detection is pretty wonky. I tried like four or five times to get a decent picture using indoor light with no success. When I finally got one that the game deemed usable, it was less like looking into a pop-up book and more like trying to balance a bar of soap on a wet dish.
Maybe this works better in outdoor light? I'll try again during daylight hours.

I'm pretty sure Euclid did more work on geometry and number theory than he did for physics.

I caught it, but you've already won the award for that.
