Because it included a rare copy of Stadium Events.
The term 'holy shit' comes to mind. But really hits this home for me is that this game was republished as
World Class Track Meet, a game that invariably triggers my nostalgia glands like no other. It's also dirt-common, saving me from the temptation of selling it.

Eh, it's like any other hobby. For some it's about the games. For someone it's about owning the games. I played with My Little Ponies as a child, and every once in awhile I'll hear about the modding community or package sealed ponies selling for stupid amounts of money, and I just shake my head.

I know, right? I collected/played with Transformers as a kid (and, to a lesser extent, these days as well) and whenever I go over to one of the fan sites it's all repaints and Japanese imports and people using stupid fucking words words like "kitbash" and "gestalt". Jesus, people, you've got kids of your own now; take ol' Optimus out of the box and give him to your child to ruin.

Hah! Like some child is going to want an ugly 1980s version of Optimus that doesn't even really look all that much like the one from the original cartoon, to say nothing of how little it resembles the Optimus Primes children are going to be familiar with today! Instead of paying $10-20 for a modern (and surely sturdier) version, just take that $100+ artifact from your childhood and let him run it down the slide and bury it in the sandbox. (That is how you properly enjoy a Transformer, right? Alas, poor Snarl, I knew you well!)
Children don't make websites (unless MySpace counts)! You aren't even "supposed" to be posting on message boards unless you're over 13 in many cases (beyond the age normal people have outgrown the standard toy market). Expecting a Transformers website made by fans to not be geared at adult collectors is like expecting the GHZ to be full of people who actually like playing Sonic!

Fine, so leave your Prime in the box! But no way are the modern toys sturdier, you got some proper die-cast stuff back in the day.

Are you kidding? I opened and inevitably destroyed nearly every Transformer I ever owned. Played to death! xD If I owned an Optimus he would have met the same fate, die cast or not. Maybe I just assume they're sturdier these days because I stopped sending them down the slide and into a pile of gravel at the bottom.

I used to play with my Transformers in the bath, so I'm glad I didn't have many of the die-cast ones. I think I did fuck up one of the light-up ones doing that. I remember breaking my brother's Starscream when I was little, and to this day I don't think he's forgiven me!
My collection is hardly substantial these days, but I tell you this, sir; the Transformer Animated series are some seriously well-designed figures. The Movie line is good for posing in robot mode, but fuck me they're fiddly to transform.

Bleh, once the Transformers Animated line came out I stopped collecting the Movie line. They 're a lot easier on the eyes and the hands.
I'm just sad the Animated line got cancelled so suddenly. The show had so much potential. :'(

yeah, but the movie had masturbation jokes you could enjoy while watching with parents and small children. you can't put a price on that.

My favorite masturbation joke to enjoy with parents and small children is "charging up" on my own and then rushing into the room unexpectedly and "shooting" my target in the back of the head before they realize what's happened! Especially hilarious on your young nieces and nephews.

Seriously.
I mean, seriously. Is it possible to fake a website, 'cause this cannot be real.
Seriously.

If this game is so rare, why does it keep showing up on eBay like this? This is three copies in the past month or two.

I think a few people who owned the game and didn't realize something really rare was sitting in the closet just got clued in.

Cause once the first guy sold it, everyone else who had that game realized they could make quick bucks with it.
Talking about the Nes, anyone had that mouse thing with a game or two?
