A mundane question

I'm wondering if I can pluck the hard drive from my US 360 and pop it onto a Japanese 360 and still access my profile. Is there any reason why this wouldn't work?

What was wrong with the US 360?

It red ringed about a month ago and I think my parents are tired of sending me stuff because despite my pleading they still haven't mailed my extra one from the states.

Anyway, I'd like to be able to play US and Japanese games all on one profile. Bayonetta comes out here in a couple of weeks.

Maybe you should get Bayonetta on PS3, which isn't region locked.

Kidding.

I don't know that guy, so I can't vouch for his info. All signs point to "yes" but if you fuck up your 360 I'm not responsible.

I actually was gonna get the PS3 version, but then I read that it was originally developed for the 360 and ported to the PS3 during development at Sega's request or something.

My main question is can I just swap the hard drive back and forth between a US console and a Japanese console in order to play all the games on a single Xbox Live account?
