Not an april fool's joke either it seems, as both companies seem to have been preparing this merger for a few months now.

I can'tkeep track of all these mergers anymore. Probably doesn't matter because at this rate it's only a matter of time until they all merge into a massive singular entity.

I'm personally waiting for Microsoft's game divisions to be bought out by Nintendo and Sony purchase Sega to return to the '90s status quo. I can dream.

Why would anybody merge with Koei? all they make is crappy dynasty warriors game and they can't even bother making a true sequel to one of the best music game ever, gitarooman.

Some people are really into the Dynasty Warrior games. I don't know why though. They probably make a good enough profit for how little time they seem to put into them. And that they're on like the 25th game by now.

But that one uses the Engrish version of Flyin' to Your Heart. So it doesn't count!

Honestly, I'm surprised that I'm not the only person who even knows of Gitaroo Man on these forums. Maybe there's more hope for seeing more in the series than I had otherwise hoped (read: two slivers of hope rather than one).

Man, are you kidding? That game has a fair old cult following, and we're all nerds here so there's bound to be at least a few who know and like it.

We're never getting a sequel though. ;_;

I would expect everyone here to know what Gitaroo Man is.

I'd actually quite like a prequel (or maybe a sequel with some flashback sequences).

Playing as a younger Miranda in the days when he was an awesome Gitaroo warrior? I'd buy it!

It's hard to imagine Miranda as a youngster, but I'd be damned if I didn't buy that. If anything, a prequel would give us a chance to know more about U-1's supposedly kickass ancestors, as well as his link to the whole Gitaroo business. We know he's the Legendary Super Saiyan Gitaroo-Man, but why? Then again, the game was great without an overly complex story, so maybe it's for the best. It leaves more to the imagination as well.

I've always thought that if the game ever got a sequel, the trace line should branch at specific points. That way you could choose which verses you wanted to play, rather than have them be chosen at random. It would have been helpful against Gregorio, at least.

That and a mute option for characters. Gregorio and Miranda are especially annoying. I swear Gregorio says "PAPAYA" out loud at one point.

I liked gregorio because of how creepy he was and the voice really added to it. I still have no idea what he was saying though.

I thought the best voice acting in that game was Zoey when he got out his armored gitaroo.
U1 said, "your goons are gone, it's over Zoey." or something like that.
And then Zoey said totally out of character, "What you say punk, you don't think I can take you by myself?"

Awesome game.

Sounds to me like "Beauty is a sin! Oh, God!" at the start, "I… am… beautiful!" at the end, and "Mama… I've done it again…! <creepy giggle>" if he wins.

You can hear a .ogg of that last one here, though I'm sure at some point I'll clean up my web folders and that link'll go dead. Act now, limited time offer, etc., etc.

Gregorio sounds quite different when he's reading the character descriptions from the album to you (took me a while before I realized that was him). On a side-note, he sounds like a girl in the Japanese version. This takes away some of the creepiness and it makes him seem even more androgynous.

I've heard for ages that in the Japanese version, their normal mode is what is our Master's Mode, and their Master's Mode is something even harder.

Does anybody know if this is true?

I think I've heard the same thing, but have no idea if it's true or not.

I hope not that game is way to hard on master already, it would ruin my pride if it is true.

I actually think I heard the inverse on this one -- there was an easy mode in Japan (so three difficulties), and they nuked it for the US release. Not too sure, though.
