Breaking news: The R-Type I & II remake for XBLA is pretty sweet. But the lag in online coop mode is simply unbearable.

Oh, wasn't aware of this.
Are there any significant gameplay differences? Is R-Type II based on the original R-Type II or Super R-Type (not that I'm that knowledgeable on the differences between those two anyway).
