We should play PSO together some time. And I should train my puny lv.21 FOmar. On a GameCube!

Any way to get a cheapo GCN Broadband adaptor? Or some other way to hook it up online?

Or we could just play Blue Burst instead. It has more levels, more items, more features, and there's a free unofficial private server with more content than Sega's own.
Then again, didn't the official servers close down already? Private servers are really the only way to go.

There are private servers for PSOGC and DC as well. You can even play together iirc. http://www.schtserv.com/Neo wrote:Or we could just play Blue Burst instead. It has more levels, more items, more features, and there's a free unofficial private server with more content than Sega's own.

As for BBAs, I got mine via ebay: http://shop.ebay.com/?_from=R40&_trksid ... Categories
Not that cheap though, unless you live in Europe and can exploit the dollar's lack of worth~

Were there any Cube games besides PSO that even used the broadband adapter? Actually, were there any Cube games besides PSO that had modem support at all?

Phantasy Star Online Episode 1&2, PSO Episode 3... err... Oh, and Homeland. Which was Japan-exclusive and by now has had its servers taken down.Green Gibbon! wrote:Were there any Cube games besides PSO that even used the broadband adapter? Well, and 1080° Avalanche, Mario Kart Double Dash!! and Kirby Air Ride, which could be played offline in LAN mode. But programs like Warppipe enable them to be played online too. Which I have yet to try. I'd love to do a KAR City Trial match over the internet. :(

...I know, that's the exact same page I linked to. Blue Burst can't play with PSOPC, PSODC or PSOGC because unlike them almost everything is done by the server and not the client. While this means there's no "offline mode", it does prevent most forms of cheating.P.P.A. wrote:There are private servers for PSOGC and DC as well. I don't have PSOPC anymore and I think my PSODC save bit the bullet, but then again why would I want to play it? Like I said, if we ever play (which I doubt we will), we should do it in Blue Burst.

I've read that the GCN versions of some multiplatform titles ditched online functions, pretty much in the same fashion as SA2: Battle. But developers actually going out of their way to remove online functionality in the GCN version of games that see a simultaneous release on all three actively competing sixth generation home systems, was rather odd.Green Gibbon! wrote:Were there any Cube games besides PSO that even used the broadband adapter? I thought Nintendo just never supported any third-party companies to put in online support (or rather discouraged them from the get go) along with never releasing anything online themselves.
