Batality

Post by Team Mecha »

Thank you Midway, I needed a good laugh. Oh, & contrary to the thread title, MK vs. DC has no fatalities or very much blood at all.

It has always been a childhood fantasy of mine to see how epic would be if Scorpion fought Batman. And I wasn't aware of it until now!
But seriously, no fatalities?

iirc most of the Mortal Kombat games that weren't entirely banned here in Germany had the Fatalities censored to a... black screen. Once you input the command, the screen would turn black, you'd hear screams and painful sounds and when you could see something again the enemy was magically torn to pieces!

I dont think Warner Bros would like the idea of a game featuring the star of their upcoming summer film having his head ripped off.

It would be unbalanced, really, seeing how I can't imagine DC characters using fatalities.

Balance it so that whenever a DC character is killed by a fatality they can use Retconality to come back to life with a half-assed explanation.

The best solution is to not make the game. Mortal Kombat really doesn't mix with other games.

Or almost everything else.

So, I get that no one really gives two fucks about MK, and DC Comics' sales must be currently going through a heavy depression to actually release something like this.
... Who am I kidding, after M&S anything is more than possible.

All Mortal Kombat has going for it anymore is its tenure and its over-the-top violence. It'd be like making a DOA where all the characters have to wear winter jackets.

this whole game just seems fucking stupid. I can totally see aquaman playing like May from guilty gear, summoning dolphins to fight for him.

It bothers me that Capcom never got the rights to DC characters when they were doing Marvel fighters. A DC vs Marvel 2D fighter by Capcom would be infinitely excellent.

Ironically, due to Superman, DC comics never fit well in fighting games. Or any game at all.

Best DC game was Batman, for the NES and the other one for the Sega Genesis, with some awesome songs.

I dunno... I kinda liked the latest MK games. Armaggeddon was very fun to play. Also, the Konquest mode wasn't too bad. Plus, it's not like everyone hadn't done Cyclops, He-Man, Skeletor, a Ninja Turtle, Conan and the Terminator on the Kreate a Fighter mode.

I really don't believe in no blood in MK (except for the SNES), so I'm fairly certain we'll at least have some Blood On cheat or something.
But, ugh, no fatalities?

You missed an optic blast at the end there.

Gene splice? That's his shoryuken-like punch? I ALWAYS heard him say "Jesus Christ!". Which seemed very weird for a mutant.

I always thought he was saying "gene spice". but no "splice" sounds like it makes alot more sense.

I've always like marrows line, "Bonerang!"
