Thos Rock Band instruments are that fragile?

I bought Rockband. And it's great. But after a while playing with some people, the yellow drum seems to have cracked a bit, right in the middle. There's a V shaped dent on the rubber lid, which seems to be something like a crack in the plastic top or something.
So... these things were made to be knocked repeatedly, how can they be so fragile? Has someone else experienced this? The blue drum seems to be going on that way too, since there's a small dent in it.

Whoever you're playing with is either:
1. A serious beast on the bongos, or
2. Smashing the drums with his fists like a retard.
Or, y'know, the drums could be really cheaply made. I really wouldn't doubt that.

I've been playing Rock Band for a couple of months now with friends and so far on the set we're using we had to replace the footpeddle and a guitar. The footpeddle snapped in half and the strummer on the guitar isn't working as well as it should.
Due to the way the notes are lined up, the yellow drum seems to take the most damage for just about every song. My friend's yellow drum doesn't feel the same as the other drums. That will probably need to be replaced in a couple of weeks too.
Thankfully you can just send them in and they'll replace them for free.

Yeah, too bad I live in Brazil. I've sent EA an email regarding this, but I have no idea if I'll be able to replace it living abroad.
