Or Mega Drive, or Sex Machine, whatever you call it.

I personally don't care enough to try this, but hey, it's sort of interesting.
Sort of.

Sounds like an interesting operation, provided one has a spare Genesis to toy around with (and possibly destroy).

The slow down in games? I don't think I have ever noticed slow down on my Genesis before.

I never had a slowdown in a game until my Playstation began to conk out, and then later with the disastrous purchase of Tomb Raider: The Angel Of Glitches.

The only slowdown I ever got was in Record of Loddoss War for the Dreamcast. I'd be doing so much damage to so many enemies on the screen at once that the sheer amount of text would cause lag.
And that is the best kind of slowdown ever. A glow of pride from knowing you PWNZ0R that much!
Also my friend loaded X-box with Linux. I don't know why he did, but he did. And now it's broke, so I get to laugh at him.

Was that as horrible as they say? The only time I ever played it was when I was testing a used system at the store. The control was even worse than I remembered it being in the original and I was killed by a dog or something that I never saw until it had already killed me.

I get slow down a lot on genesis. The worst would have to be sonic 2 multiplayer. Both of you get hit at the same time and the rings slow the game down. I'd try it but i don't mind the slow down, gives me a chance to see what's happening.

No, it was worse. The controls were indeed worse than they'd ever been, the graphics were terrible, there was slowdown in the oddest places, there were glitches that didn't even make sense -- the whole thing was a disgrace. I heard that the team that created TR had it taken away after AOD, but I've only read it in one place so I don't know if it's true or not. It's believable.

It's true... Eidos took the game away from Core and I believe Crystal Dynamics is handling it now... It'll still probably suck.

The only really noticeable slowdown that I can remember was in StarFox Adventures. It was never for very long or while you were doing anything important. During the long hallways it would slow down in the middle for a second while it was loading where it was you were going. Wasn't a problem at all really considering how good the graphics are in that game. I dunno why no one liked it, it was pretty cool. I bet if they used the Dinosaur Planet characters they made up instead of using Fox everyone would've loved it.

I didn't even realize Crystal Dynamics still existed. They sure don't deserve to.

Meh,
they've made a few good games in their time.
But yeah, Lara Croft needs to die already. Or, well... again.

She didn't die, she just got stuck. No, really. That's the explanation. She was buried in tons of sand for months and she managed to survive. Idiots.

Call me a n00b (go on, it's my "on" switch), but what exactly does "overclocking" entail and what are the benefits to something "overclocked"?

<a href="

It used to be a way to get an upgrade without having to spend any money. Then around 2000, it became an "industry", now people spend more on cooling and accessories that it's cheaper to just buy the faster processor.

I'd say it's more like taking Viagra and having more blood pumping to your penis than it does on it's own. Too much overclocking could make it overheat and die. I'd assume the same goes for the "penis/Viagra" metaphor, but I'm lucky enough not to know.

Overclocking is basically the art of making an old piece of machinery work so much faster that it eventually gives up and commits ritual suicide, opening the avenue for you to upgrade without the bother of selling the old parts on ebay.
