...and it's pretty neat! It has different music, and given the nature of how Rez is constructed, that different music is reflected by different level design. It's still the same core stages -- the first level is still the Egypt-y level, for example -- but things look a bit different and the enemy placement is different as well.
Playing it now, it feels almost like a remix of the original -- but of course in actuality, it was the game that we already know and love that was built out of this, and not the other way around. But despite the totally different soundtrack (and a ton of debug menus that you can manipulate with a second controller), this Beta itself seems pretty close to finished. It has the five stages we all know (albeit with a slightly different look and layout), and plays exactly like the final version of the game.
Anyhow, you can burn it on a standard CD and it will run fine on your original Dreamcast, no boot disc required. You just have to be somewhat particular about how you burn it, as not all methods seem to result in a working disc. I downloaded the CDI image from megaupload here, used the CDI to Nero tool (found here) to convert it to an NRG image, and then burned the disc using Nero Burning Rom 6 following the instructions here. I can't speak for the effectiveness of any other method, though, so if you don't have Nero installed you are on your own!

Awesome! Is this the one where he runs through the levels instead of flying? I never thought we'd be playing this, ever.
I usually burn those things with Alcohol 120%, and they work pretty fine.
