Edit: ...thinking about it, if he actually has these, then I dunno if i'd be sitting on them for a week...anything could go wrong before then. And he doesn't strike me as the type who withholds things like this, so publically too.

Another Sonic 2 prototype? It's getting boring.
Chaotix will be interesting though, and S3K might be as well. Though I'm still desperate to see an early Sonic 1 or Sonic CD build. Oh well...

A few notes:

There are not three prototypes, but rather a lot more. It has been estimated that there are at least around 256 prototypes, though not all of those are Sonic prototypes (I estimate that only about 10 of them will be Sonic prototypes).

Due to the reason above, the prototypes will still take about a week to index and organize (Most of them have very vague filenames), hence the delay.

So far, drx has revealed two Sonic 2 protos, one Sonic 3 proto and two Chaotix protos.

I haven't seen an early build of the original, but aren't 510 and 712 enough for CD?

You haven't seen the Sonic 1 beta because the guy who owns it aparently refuses to sell it/let drx dump it. Rage.
And yeah, but there were still those screenshots of completely different special stages, this weird barrier around Sonic and badniks not found in that Round and some other stuff. Not to mention Round 2, assuming that ever was included in an early version.

Okay, so people have more or less seen everything there is to see (On the surface) of the 20+ Sonic protos that were dumped, and- I'm not kidding- this is the most interesting thing they've found by far:

Wow thats the coolest discovery I've seen since...I dont know anymore.

I remember seeing this boss on the september 1998 EGM magazine that previewed SA1, I still have that green magazine today. First time I saw green eyed Sonic, ah the memories.

Meh, at least it's good for a laugh. I don't doubt that we'll get a lot more intresting things once people start hacking; I'm particularly interested in the SA stuff, not to mention all the S&K stuff S3 has.

I have the PC version of SADX, by the way. I'll try to see if any of this stuff is in there; I recall seeing a VMU texture somewhere.
