Seriously, though, what the hell? Cowboy Bebop is one of, if not the single greatest God-damn anime series ever. Ever.

Not really. The Japanese seem to be very fascinated by the "Old West" cowboy culture, similarly to how Americans seem to like the samurai.

Notice the other anime like Trigun and all of these other "space cowboy" type of shows.
