No more 60GB PS3?

I know general consensus here is that the PS3 is too expensive to give a damn over, but if anyone was actually excited about the $100 price drop in America, you might want to reconsider allowing Sony the benefit of the doubt.

According to SCEE president David Reeves, SCEA is trying to phase out the 60GB version of the PS3, meaning that we Americans will only have the $600 80GB + Motorstorm bundle to choose. If Reeve's comments in the interview posted above are accurate, it certainly sounds like we're getting screwed over.

Well, they're not really are they, because what the US are offering from the 1st of August is a USD 599 version with one game. All they're doing is taking their stock in trade that they've got at the moment of the 60GB model, marking the price down and it will all be gone by the end of July.
So once the 60GB is gone, that will be the end of the 60GB then?
In America, yes.
