I've had it on my site for nearly a whole year. It may be gone in a little while. I haven't yet decided. Anyway I have the game for PC. Some how I zipped the game into a small 42 mega byte file. Once unzipped you'll be looking at a 102 mega byte file. Make sure you have the space. Lastly I ran the game on my old Windows Me and on my new Windows XP. No problems just make sure you have Direct X.

Wow, it's FREE and I still have absolutely no sort of interest in Sonic R.

Or, you could just buy it for a few bucks, not kill the game industry, and not be a theif.

Meanwhile, my mp3 downloads continue...

Well, I think it might actually be better to steal it. Might teach Sega to stop making crappy ports. Or at least to make sure the damn music actually works before sending the game out. Sadly, I already bought it. So the whole thing is moot for me.

Where's our damn port of NiGHTs or Burning Rangers or Panzer Dragoon for the PC? Damn Sega and their habit of ignoring every single other franchise and character in favor of Sonic.

Because that couple of dollars is going to save the industry.

Come on, you can pick up Sonic CD for 10 bucks and get this and seven other games for free with it. Why bother?

You'd have to get up for that.

Or you might live in a country that denies the existence of retail. Yes, my people follow the wanton religion that declares that if you don't buy the game when it's fresh then you're screwed, so ha-ha.

Well, unless you import, obviously. But then I'm lazy.

There don't appear to be any music files in the Zip. Sound effects, sure, but no music.

That's a damn shame, seeing as the best part of Sonic R is the music.

I'm still wondering how he got Sonic R to run on WinXP; I kept getting an error message.

Retail copies of Sonic R don't have music, either. I bought the two-pack with Sonic R and Sonic 3D Blast, and, guess what? No music.

As far as compatibility goes, Sonic R doesn't run on my WinXP Pro desktop, but does run on my WinXP Home laptop. So that might help things.

The music is there. It works fine for me.

I assure you that it is not. There's the Sound Folder, which contains Sound effects, and that's about it. There isn't a single music file anywhere in the Zip.

But that's enough ungratefulness from me. Thanks a lot for uploading a Sonic game that I wouldn't have been able to acquire otherwise except for the tedius business of importing, which I never bother with.

While the music is very gay and has little to do with Sonic, I have to say that it grew on me after a while.

We all know you like it Pop. You've been found out, admit it.

Last year some time when my friend first got Acid (the PC music mixing program), we were thinking of things to remix and I thought of Sonic R of course. We tried playing the music on his comp and we couldn't get it to work! Now I know that it was becasue he had his XP or something higher like that and I had my Win 95, where the music still works... for me at least.

At the risk of being burned alive, I actually enjoyed Sonic R's music. It's got the techno-ish beat I enjoy.
