My boyfriend bought be Tokobot Plus two weeks ago because I wanted it. I thought it would be similar to Pikmin or The Misadventures of Tron Bonne.
Well, it's nothing like either. There are some decent platforming parts, but I'm here to complain about the fucked up way this thing was ported from PSP to PS2.
First of all, a major weapon is missing from the game. It's in the instruction booklet, there's a slot for it in the game, it was in the PSP version, but they forgot to put a way to actually acquire it in the PS2 version.
Whoops.
In adition, while you're using weapon powerups, you cannot move. So instead of controlling a giant robot samurai, hammer, tank or what have you - you now just briefly attack and then revert to nothing, making the purpose of even having the fucking abilities in the game questionable.
The "added" content to the game are a myriad of hidden, Mario Sunshine Jumping Challenges that are mind-bendingly frustrating, and one is literally impossible to complete.
What the fuck?! How could any company screw up so much porting something from PSP to the PS2. What's worse is, I'm the only one who seems to have bought the goddamn thing, so there aren't any Faqs to check to see if everyone who got the damn game is experiencing the same problems.
I thought Sonic 360 was bad, but this takes the goddamn cake.
Glitch-checking worse than Sonic 360? Yes

Whenever Capcom fails me lately I look back to this. The Misadventures of Tron Bonne is PERFECTION on a disc.Zeta wrote:I thought it would be similar to The Misadventures of Tron Bonne.

They don't need to. They always advertise extra stuff on PSP versions anyway.Zeta wrote:Too bad they failed to note this on the packaging or to the general public.
Another piece of hateful Sony standards, No Sony logos can appear on Sony products in game. You wouldn't believe how many games came back from submission because of this.
Sony was the worst company for standards. You have to pay to submit too. Microsoft is a bit better, free submission for first time, then fucking loads after that. Nintendo i can't really remember, but holy shit it must be lax (see Super Monkey Ball Adventure for GC for reference).

I don't understand the logic behind that. What Sony products appear in games with enough detail to warrant a logo anyway, besides possibly actual playstation hardware that you might see in an options screen? (in which case it strikes me that the game is officially endorsing first party products, sounds like a good thing!) Seems like more likely you see Nintendo and Sega logos on things that aren't their products anyway, like on billboards and stuff just as random decoration.
I think it'd be hilarious to turn on a PS2 game and see a controller "diagram" in the options screen with the word "SANY" printed on it.
