What's wrong with 3D? I'm doing a 3D project for a thesis called The Kiwi and the Storks, which I need to finish in order to graduate...

If it's the over-use of 3D stuff that's been churned out recently, I'm pretty sure 2D animation seemed overused in their early days. But I guess that's doesn't seem to be the case anymore. However, I'm sure they'll be a day when 2D animation and 3D animation can be seen in the same light after this saturation of 3D movies is over.

your last scentence has much wisdom in it. And yes I was referring to the dive in quality 3d animation has brought to the industry. 2d animation (disney even) has experienced droughts of creativity early in the day its true. However the difference is that studios have the ability now to shit out movies at a much faster rate. Also despite however poorly 2d has ever faired, it has never witnessed such a souless period of pop culture engrained talking animal movies as we are experiencing now.

Out of the 17 movies posters i've seen recently in the UK, 9 of them had at least one character with a smarmy smirk or grin. 5 of them were 3d cg films.

P.S. Furries are invading the animation industry like jews have for everything else.

Hmm, I believe that after Snow White, then Pinocchio, Fantasia, The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad, etc. didn't do so hot for whatever reasons; I assume it's because people already had their fill of animation with Snow White. Disney Studios didn't create anything that was as successful as they liked so they decided to try to emulate Snow White's success by making Cinderella (which was a hit). I'm sure everyone knows Sleeping Beauty did horribly at the box office at it's release, and I think by this time everyone was sick of animation (even when there were good ones).

Maybe 3D animation may go through something similar. Perhaps there will be a time when, even though there are good 3D movies, the masses will have gotten sick of 3D movies anyway and 3D movies' success will lay dormant for a decade or two because it won't be profitable for that duration of time.

Shadow Hog pretty much hit the nail. I believe even live action films was intitially a fad until they brought in storytelling (at least that's what I was taught) like A Trip to the Moon and The Great Train Robbery, the first films that elevated film as a medium rather than a passing fad.

That was pretty endearing, it manages to convey so much without words.

I don't think he necessarily killed himself. A tiny bird capable of hauling and nailing trees to a cliffside has got to be made of pretty tough stuff.

There was a very audible *SPLAT" though, well, maybe mor eof a *THUD* but still, it's one of those sounds that aren't very good...
