Well, it's finally happened. After six long years of service, one of my maracas has finally died on me. This is quite unfortunate, since we're still getting a lot of use out of the game, and the folks at my anime club have really been having a blast with Samba de Amigo.

So before I splurge for a new set on eBay, I should probably ask: is there any way possible that I can simply have the broken maraca replaced?

Maracas can stop working, without breaking them purposefully or setting them on fire?!

Not the maraca part, the sensory thing that dangles from it.

I remember ODCM did a feature in their last issue on how to turn your normal maracas into badass skull maracas of doom. Ah, those were the days.

If you don't find a quick replacement, before you hit Ebay, let me know, and I'll sell you mine for cheap. It will be until mid November until I get to where they are, however.

Wow, thanks Bo. I highly doubt that I'll find any other quick alternative, so I'll gladly accept that offer. Middle of November's fine, so we can negotiate a price before that.

Might you also happen to have a DC VGA box you want to sell? Sega brand only, of course.

You can't find that shit anywhere now. Apparently everybody in the world who has one wants to keep it. Ounce-for-ounce, it could well be worth more than gold.

I have a VGA box, but I don't know if it's Sega brand... I'll check when I get the maracas. And will sell it for much less than the price of gold, so let me know if you want it. I think I have Seaman and microphone, too, as long as we're talking exotic peripherals.

I only want it if it's the Sega one. Third-party ones are a dime a dozen.
