Just wanted to show you guys some YouTube videos I ran accross. Guy took some VG music and plays along with his guitar. Nothing spectacular, but interesting none the less.
Hyrule Temple from SSBM.
Metal Harbor
Windy and Riply
Emerald Hill
Sequence Erase by The Aquabats
Another Termina from Chrono Cross
Don't Be Afraid from FF8
Protecting My Devotion from FF9
Green Forest
And before you ask, no that's not me.

I can't stand his tone and his playing does not sound fluid or natural.
Barring that, it's a good effort.

Better than what I can play anyway, but hardly to the extent that I would set my guitar on fire. That said, it's quite entertaining.
@Baba, I get what you mean though, sounds pretty "Chungky".

I wonder if they make topics on Beatles message boards every time someone covers one of their songs.

Sometimes it's pretty relevant on this board, J-man did a ska Sonic Boom cover and someone did a pretty cool piano version of Spring Yard Zone.
I think me and J-man we're thinking about doing a ska cover for the Sonic 2 Supersonic theme too, but that was yonks ago.

I'm working on an acoustic/kazoo Mario Kart: Double Dash medley. Watch this space.
And I'd blatantly still do that Super Sonic cover with you, dude. Just let me get a fuckin' weekend free first. :)

Yeah, sure dude, we haven't jammed in a good while.
Anyway, I might knock up ska cover of Green Forest this weekend, depends how much work I have to do over the weekend.

I'm pretty sure Esrever did the piano-based Spring Yard Zone.
I've got a live acoustic version of myself and my drunken friend doing an acoustic version of Green Forest, with an a capella finish, but it's somewhere in these masses of live tapes that I need to sort through.

That was most enjoyable!
I've always thought it would be fun to get together with a bunch of musicians and sort of work out acoustic versions of the old Sonic bgms, and now I remember why.

Since new Sonic games suck, we just have music and cool art to be happy.
