Oh my gosh, where's Oshima?
I was watching Sonic Adventure DX credits, and his name is missing from the credits! Its not even under the original Sonic Adventure team" credits! Did they actually take his name out? Cause there's nothing mentioned about a CG Movie Producer anywhere in them!

I believe so. I can't remember where I heard it off hand, but I know SOMEBODY said it. Might've been one of the interviews before Heroes came out.
Edit: Oh, here we are. A quick google search brought it up -- Lostlevels.org's interview with Mike Wallis concerning Sonic X-treme. When talking about the staff of Sonicteam...

I was close enough, I guess.Yasuhara = Designer (level and character). I worked with him a few years, and have to say that he is one of the nicest and honest guys I know. He said he created Sonic and I believe him. He's quiet and not driven by ego like Naka, so that is why I believe what he says.

It's Daxter! It seems like a lot of heads of development teams are pompous asses nowadays. I remember reading some interviews with Itagaki where he said some pretty egotistical stuff including calling Tekken 4 garbage. Regardless of if it is or not it seems quite rude to say something like that in a public interview.

Yeah, Roll-Jump-Roll-Jump. You can chain them together. I do it walking down long straightaways just because it is faster. However you are at a pretty hard part in the game because I am guessing you don't have any elixers left after the two fucking tanks.
I don't get why everyone said the game was so hard. I only had trouble at a handful of spots. Each normal enemy has a specific strategy you must use to defeat them. Once you learn it they become really easy. The only parts I really had trouble with were the level 3 boss for some reason (apparently he is supposed to be easy), the level 8 boss that is hailed as the hardest in the game (by my second time through I knew I could beat her I just had to get better, took me like 10 tries to get better though), and that tank helicopter part was kind of annoying since aiming your arrows is a bitch. Woo, that was quite the run-on. Anyway, keep at it, there is only one more hard boss for the rest of the game.

Oh, hey, I did it. Now I'm fighting alien things in sewers.
The game's not hard as a general rule-- it's solidly challenging. However, there are a few moments where it kind of peaks. You know those two underground rooms with the swinging spiked balls and all the zombie archers, followed by the tentacle mini-boss? It took me fucking weeks to get past all that.

I got past that part fairly easily. I cheated though, from like level 4 on I was using the gamefaqs walkthrough. However his strategy for that part was retarded.
The game does keep you on your toes the whole time though. You can be excellent at fighting the black ninjas, but if you make a mistake it could cost you your life or a very large portion of your health bar.

Itagaki is a madman and that is why we love him. I used to think he was a dick too, but the more I read about the guy the more insane he seems. He's like, the Mick Jagger of Videogaming or something like that.
It's not that he's a dick, really. It's more that he just speaks what's on his mind with little inhibitions for the comfort of others.

I actually think Itagaki's hilarious, and I mean that in the good way. I remember that interview when he slammed both Tekken and VF, and explained why DoA was superior to both. If he were just an average joe, I'd have said he was an idiot, but since he's actually the creator, it becomes more of a deliberate fueling for outspoken rivalry. I respect a man who can talk the talk, and even though DoA may be inarguably inferior to VF (what isn't?), I think the guy has proven his ability to pump out a good, meat & potatoes game.
I think that analogy describes Ninja Gaiden extremely well. There's nothing fabulous or particularly innovative about it, but it's extremely satisfying. People complain left and right that it's too hard, but I honestly found it just challenging, which is a difficult thing to pull off without being frustrating.
I got to that demon chick boss in the chapel, right after the catacombs. I beat her on my second try, but I had used every single healing item in my possession, but I figured I could do better so I didn't save it. I tried again two or three times, but didn't beat her after that. I got sidetracked with school stuff for a few weeks, and when that was over, I didn't really feel like picking it up again. I'm told I'm barely over halfway through the game, is that right?
