How... how will they make a movie out of that? There is no story. You just live. And collect furniture.

Barbie movies are set to the story of fairy tales (and are slightly good).
But all the movies that Nintendo could make, they chose Animal Crossing?

So how can you say they're good when you only watched one Barbie movie out of like...7 released or something to that affect.
As for Nintendo media, I still want a new Mario cartoon/anime/whatever.

I have translations of what's on the official website there automated so <strike>I'm not so sure about accuracy.</strike> it's reeds like rubbish.
I think this is the plot summary
The human how you hit the village which how is hit, but strange
village which lives chummily. The girl meeting of day and alone there
is to there moved. In the village which the right or the left is not
recognized and how hits, meeting keeps dissolving while to do
part-time job, eventually the companions of the village and inside. A
certain night, meeting picks up the bottle where the strange letter
enters in the beach of the village. When the cover is opened, there,
"as for miracle it occurs in the night of snow celebration" the
message that....

Protagonist of this story. However the ? ? ? oak ? ?, also
it fails the time, it is bright vigor.

Meeting is guided to the village, the driver of the taxi.

Being innocent, the shrewd divider it wishes the village headman.

There is no village and the ? does not become, the storekeeper of
the raccoon dog store. .

The body is large, but the girl of kind character. Even if meeting and
in.

The eye which you saw however it is lovely, very straight character.

Freely and easily and purity, natural becoming dim type.

Sport training love. The muscular guy of not being defeated dislike.

Most Ghibli movies are simply about fantastic characters living in day to day life. Spirited Away and My Neighbor Totoro for instance. Its just full of whimsy and cute character moments. Sort of like a not-retarted Napoleon Dynamite.

I resent that remark. I like Ghibli animes as much as the next schmuck but I'm not about to sit there and say that they aren't all retarded. Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle...well you get the idea. They all use the same basic formula that's so famous in anime. Which is kind of why I can't watch 80% of anime out there.
Give me original concepts like Tokyo Godfathers and I get interested and come back again and again.
As for the Animal Crossing movie...yea...yea...that's uh...that's...that's dumb...y'know...and stuff...

This would be cool, if I would not have to stand for Charles Martinet's Mario for more than 5 minutes. =)

You want a kickass Nintendo series that would make a great movie?
Metroid.
You don't even NEED dialogue! Just send Jessica Biel or whoever to some exotic rainforest local, get some awesome special effects to make the enemies, Power Beam of Doom...you've got an Oscar winner.

Didn't that Woo guy whose first name I can't remember (I wanna say Michael) get the rights to make a Metroid movie. Whatever happenend with that? They've probably expired by now, if movie rights do that kinda thing. Zelda might make a decent story, except it'd probably just end up being a generic fantasy movie.

John. It was John Woo.

It will probably be similar to Yokohama Shopping Log, the most laid-back anime ever made. It is not without its fans, and it has girl robots kissing in it!

Except there'd be no power suit. Just Jessica Biel in a bikini with a big gun and random aliens.

I would be one of those fans. I really liked the manga of that, which ended its 11-year run a few months ago.
And the reason the robot girls kiss is to exchange data. Literally.

Ahhh, just get the guys who dubbed the DiC Mario cartoons to do the job. They were decent as the Mario characters.
It can be taken two ways, people. Choose wisely.

I have found I am intrigued by Yokohama Shopping Log, and not just because of woman love (though that never hurts). By "laid back", do you refer to the general direction, overall flow, or what? Because I love stuff that's just chill.

Must be the direction, it's mellow and calm, almost as if nothing ever happens. Like in one story the main character goes to the store to buy a rake, or she is given a camera and goes around taking pictures of things. There IS a story and a "climax" to each (it's not about nothing!), but basically you're seeing very normal life in a place that is a little strange (the setting seems to be in the future after some major catastrophe, but it's hard to tell). I enjoyed it, but I've only seen the OVAs and a tiny bit of that long-running manga, so Tsuyoshi may be able to describe it better?
