Dragonforce is an amazingly consistent band.

So consistent, they've managed to produce three of the exact same album with the exact same song repeated for about an hour. In fact, it is mind boggling how they've managed to go absolutely nowhere creatively in the course of 5 years. After the first hour, it's like you've accidentally left the album on repeat.

Oh, this is gonna hurt me, I can tell now...

who's Dragonforce?

I won't hurt you for that. Power metal is an obscure genre, and not everyone will immediately recognize it.

Think of it as dorky fantasy metal. Dragonforce sounds like... well... Phil Collins singing in a metal band.

Maybe no one has heard of them because they suck balls? Then again, most mainstream music nowadays sucks balls so that doesn't really work either.

I thought you were talking about a Saturn game.

Dragonforce sorta sucks. Mostly because of the monotony. Seriously, if you've heard one Dragonforce song, you HAVE indeed heard them all.

I don't know who they are either (I've given up on the current music for some years now), all I know is the name sounds kinda corny yet kinda awesome at the same time.

I know who they are, at least 2 guys I know listen to them constantly and think they're the best thing since sliced bread. They seem pretty decent from the little I've heard, but I do mean the little I've heard, meaning next to nothing.

About everything being the same though...doesn't the same pretty much go for all these modern metal bands? I don't exactly listen to a ton of the stuff, but it seems pretty rare for any of the bands to have much variety between songs.

That sort of sums up the band in general. Kinda corny yet kinda awesome.

But you can at least tell the difference between songs.

I think they're only truly distinctive song is Starfire and that's only if you're listening closely. Anyways, as much as I am loathe to admit it, I have to agree with Baba on this one. Once you've heard one you've heard them all, and that they do truly seem to be going absolutely nowhere, despite their number of years as a band.

At any rate give them a listen if you're bored, as they aren't horrible. Corny indeed, but not quite as much so as some other bands in the genre.

I've never even HEARD of them. Whee!

I thought they were ok, but I've only ever heard of one album.
But Baba is indeed correct, imagine a Phil Collins song with added power chords and twin solos , speed up the tempo and there you have it.
Dragonforce

My boyfriend's roomate used to listen to Fintroll, which was heavy metal singing in high-pitched voices about elves fighting dragons and such. He described it as the ultimate in aural pain.

They're making the name of their latest (military operation in Iraq) Operation Resolute Sword? Fuck, we're going to have to change our band's name again.

The Onion is cool...but you're quoting it does not, unfortunately, give you the same honor.

Ack! Bereft of honor! I'll have to settle for complaining about your misuse of "you're"...that should have been "your."

Then this means war! But let's keep it out of the forum. Unless everyone wants to watch.

I could truly care less whether or not they all watch....hell, they can even join in if they want to. I mean if we're going to war, we might at least provide some sort of entertainment.....like Bush, minus the phone taps.
