Sonic R

OK, now since I've done some stupid things, I'll probably get flamed for this, but this is actually a serious question I need to know.

See, a couple of years back, I bought Sonic R along with Sonic 3D Blast for the PC. (It was a 2-game bundle thingy.) Anyways, I got it home, and after tossing 3D Blast under my bed (I didn't really like that game) I installed Sonic R and I began to play.

Only there was NO MUSIC. I thought that maybe it was just my crappy CD-ROM, and my CD player would play it, so I popped the Sonic R CD into my Discman, and only 1 track showed up, and that was a data track. When I checked the CD's properties, it said that only 45MB of the CD had been used.

Sonic 3D Blast however worked fine, and so I played that and grew to like it...

But now I want to play Sonic R again, and I can't find the disc so I'm going to buy it again. But I need to know, does the PC version NOT have the soundtrack of the Saturn version? I'm not even going to bother if it doesn't, I mean it's a great game and all but the music makes it...

Also, I was reading an older thread on here, and it said that Sonic R doesn't work on XP...I recently upgraded from an old 98 machine (which I played R on) to an Athlon 64 XP machine.

If I get the new version that's on the Wal-Mart bargain aisle, will it work with XP?

I'm sorry for all of the shit I caused, I swear this isn't sarcasm or anything. All help or info will be greatly appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Just get Sonic Gems Collection if you want to play it so badly.

I don't like my Gamecube. I was suckered into getting a GC by the Nintendo Corporation, and they burned me pretty good. I'm seriously thinking of selling my GC so I can get a PS2 or something decent, like another RAM stick.

Thanks for the advice though, I'll get that if worse comes to worse...

People still buy games?

Anyway, it runs just fine on XP. For me, at least.

There have been problems with the music on the PC version of Sonic R since the game was new, regardless of what version of Windows you're running. My copy once worked, then one day the music stopped playing, and it hasn't since. I don't think there's any way to fix it.

OK then, it looks like I will have to stick my my crappy GC for a long time now...thank god for Star Fox Adventures, the only good game on that box...old PC games are such a pain to get working...thank you for telling me this.

Is Sonic Gems relatively cheap by now? I don't really feel like paying $50 for Sonic R and Sonic CD with the INFERIOR soundtrack...

The US soundtrack is not inferior by any means necessary.

Boy, you seem to be striking all of the wrong chords.

Well, excuse me, but I found the Japanese/European soundtrack to be 100X more catchy, and more Sonic like.

Also, if you think SFA is the best the GCN has to offer then I fear to think which games you think that are must haves for the PS2.

I have XP and Sonic R works totally fine, must be a dodgy copy if anything I reckon.

I also got Sonic R on the pc years ago, and the music never worked. Got Sonic Gems there two weeks ago (Tails' Adventure is surprisingly awesome) and the music is actually pretty embarrasingly catchy. Game is still way too easy.

The only good music in the US version is the main theme.

I disagree with that statement entirely.

Sonic R has the kind of soundtrack that provokes me to listen to a different soundtrack.

Ngangbius is my favorite negress because she likes the Sonic R OST.

She also probably has a ghetto booty because she's *lowers voice* black.

No, not in a baaaad way! It's just to tell them apart because she's black.

The Sonic R OST had lyrics. There can be no greater sin.
