I bought his new album, Try! on an impulse.

As it turns out, John Mayer is a fucking beast on the guitar, as many already know, and his songs hold up in a (relatively) stripped down format. In addition, Another Kind of Green and I Got A Woman are fucking awesome. It's still John Mayer, but it's a better, more provocative John Mayer. As if Room For Squares was Diet John Mayer, and Heavier Things was John Mayer Zero. This is John Mayer Classic, if that makes any sense.

Now where have I heard that name before? Was it Family Guy?

He was on Chappelle's Show, so I have respect for the guy.

He's actually a really funny guy, too. I wish he would do his show, "John Mayer has a TV Show" more often. I think he's only got one episode.

Good stuff though.

What about Caffeine-Free John Mayer? Or Caffeine-Free Diet John Mayer? Or Vanilla Mayer?

Lucky you man, all I can get hold of is the Bigger Than My Body single. I'd kill for an album but I'll have to wait till HMV or Virgin get the import.

I've been intrigued by Mayer's recent "take me seriously! please!" blues tour, but I'm not sure I'm ready to accept him as anything more than Mr. Your Body is a Wonderland cheesehead yet.
