Aw, Pow Pow, it's from a guy I knew from some forum. He approached me with some early demo with placeholder characters, for all intent and purposes, it was a Bug! clone. The project was entirely his brainchild, except for music, 2D and 3D characters where he needed help but his input was crucial and we did our best to deliver what he wanted. He had a pretty clear vision.
What I had to do was to illustrate the story entirely, create some promo and standalone art and design/animate a wide variety of characters. All under a strict deadline.
The last part was tricky because I didn't touch the game, I just sent him animation cells and I'd trust him to animate them correctly in-game. I would send him animated GIF's to guide him, but one insurmontable difficulty was stretching and squashing characters in-game, it never really worked with the animation engine he did before contacting me. But what I liked was that it was my first attempt to seriously do animation on a computer.
