Sonic 3D
European Mega Drive release date
I recently fonud an old Sonic 3D promotional postcard, stating that Sonic 3D would be released on Mega Drive on 14th November (1996). It used the slogan "Remember 3D Day". So I guess this date can be added to the museum page when it gets updated.
Flicky - yet another cameo
Opa Opa
Flicky makes a cameo appearance as a collectible item in the Sega Mark III Fantasy Zone spin-off game "Opa Opa". She doesn't seem to do anything other than reward you with $5000. This should be added to Flicky's encyclopedia entry.
Sonic Spinball
Clucker, Veg-O and Mobius
I feel it should be mentioned on the museum page that the Clucker robots, from the Clucker's Defense bonus stage are supposed to be Kokekkoh from Sonic 2 and that Clucker was the name used for Kokekkoh in the US Sonic 2 manual. Similarly, I think you should just outright refer to the crab robot as Crawl and mention that Crawl was the name used in the US Sonic 2 manual for Guardon. This information might be best in the Miscellanea section.
The Miscellanea section should probably cover "Mobius" too, since Robotnik's base is on Mt. Mobius.
In an early draft "Series Bible" for DiC's "Sonic the Hedgehog" series Sonic referred to the machine that turned living things into robots as the "Veg-O". The Series Bible can be found here, Veg-O is mentioned on pages 3 and 11. This should probably be mentioned in the Miscellanea section too.
Dr Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine
Coconuts, Grounder, Scratch and Mobius
Similar to my first Spinball suggestion, it's probably worth mentioning that Coconuts and Grounder from the TV show were based upon Ai-ai and Handrill from Sonic 2, and take their names from Sonic 2's US manual. Scratch appears to be based upon Kokekkoh, but I'm not sure if that's even worth mentioning seeing as how much his design changed and that he doesn't use Kokekkoh's US name of Clucker. It might be worth mentioning Mobius on the Story section too, seeing as the manual did.
Animals
Game museum pages
I think that the animals should be listed similarly to the enemies, so that there's also a list of their names (when available) and sprites before the stage listings as well. Sure, they're mentioned in the encyclopedia, but how would a casual browser know what entry to look for if they just wanted to see what other games "that squirrel" appeared in?
Cameos
Nitpicks
The Spider-Man game for the Sega CD that is mentioned is probably "The Amazing Spider-Man vs. The Kingpin". I don't think there were any other Spider-Man games released on Sega CD. The cover can be found here.
In the Saturn version of Daytona USA, the mountain carving of Sonic becomes Super Sonic when viewed in replay. I'm not sure if this goes for the other versions of the game.
In Burning Rangers, Lead Phoenix's hockey stick blaster thing has a little Sonic face icon that can be seen clearly in the opening animation.
In Giant Egg, Chao is also available as an Egg Animal.

Actually, Fucker and Grounder really sounds like a better comedy duo. But Grounder is the one with the penetrating drills on his face and hands.

Not sure if it's site worthy, but there's a little easter egg of sorts in Sonic & Knuckles. In Sky Sanctuary Zone as Sonic, after Knuckles has hit the switch stand to his right, facing him, and crouch to piss him off.
I didn't know about this until I read about it on a forum today, but then I didn't know about the star ring colours either, so this is probably old hat.

I loved doing that. I was like "get your ass up bitch and help us, lazy fucker", and he'd be like "piss off". And I'd be like "Why can't Knuckles come along?" and if only God had descended from the heavens and warned me about Sonic Heroes. Not sure if it's site worthy, but there's a little easter egg of sorts in Sonic & Knuckles. Here are a few other interesting items that may (or may not) be useful for the site:
-Chaotix contains its own rendition the Sonic CD ‘I’m outta here’ Easter Egg. If a character is left standing idle for more than a minute on most stages, Metal Sonic will appear and fire his laser, killing the character’s partner off.
-The Game Gear version of Sonic Spinball features a secret room on each level. Inside each room are two monitors. The first, marked with a © symbol gives, as one would expect, copyright information. The second monitor contains a Kanji symbol that represents the eye and produces a strange code when hit. The presence of Kanji type is somewhat unusual, as the development team mostly consisted of American members. The ending credits challenge the players to find all of the secret rooms. (You can see a picture of the first room and the ending credits by clicking here).
-The Super Hard Mode paragraph on the Sonic Heroes page is slightly inaccurate. Although Super Hard Mode doesn’t contain an autosave function, it is possible to save progress by selecting ‘exit’ from the pause menu. The game will save the current level and the player’s number of lives. As the life count is saved without having to reach the goal, it is possible to build up a stock pile of lives by repeatedly replaying the levels and exiting before reaching the end.
-According to Hari Hari, the Sonic Channel character profile states that ‘Eggman’ is just nick name, but the characters real name is listed as ‘unknown’.
^_^

Haha, that's another one I didn't know about. The laser delivers like a normal hit though, so your partner only loses rings if they have any.big_smile wrote:-Chaotix contains its own rendition the Sonic CD ‘I’m outta here’ Easter Egg. Looks like the name "Ivo" hasn't been adopted by Sonic Team then.-According to Hari Hari, the Sonic Channel character profile states that ‘Eggman’ is just nick name, but the characters real name is listed as ‘unknown’.
More Stuff
- On the 1993 page the publisher of Sonic the Comic is currently stated as Fleetway Comics. The publisher's official name was Fleetway Editions Ltd. and later Egmont Fleetway Ltd..
- The correct spelling of the girl's name in the Sonic the Hedgehog OVA is Seira, as shown beside her health bar in the video game that she plays with Eggman.
- Will the plush toys produced for Japanese UFO catcher machines be mentioned on the museum year pages? I had this image lying around on my hard drive for a while, but I can't remember where I found it.
- In Premier Manager on Mega Drive you can fit your stadium with Chaotix logo sponsorship banners. Here are screenshots:

- There's a Sonic cameo in the Saturn version of Sim City 2000. Some kind of Sonic statue or building or something.
- There's a capture from Cosmo Fighter's screen available here.
- I think that SegaSonic Popcorn Shop should get its own Museum page. There's a capture from the actual screen available here.
Hopefully Sega will release a popcorn maker attachment for the Nintendo Revolution controller to allow a more accurate port when Sonic Ultra Collection comes around.
