I've discovered Sonic Team's Plot!

an idiot predicts the next Sonic games...
Sonic Mega Collection: Sonic Mega Drive Games...
Sonic Adventure 2 Battle and DX: Sonic Dreamcast games...
Sonic Adventure Dx Minigame Collection: Sonic Game Gear games...
Educated guess of what's probably next: SONIC SEGA SATURN GAMES! If you do the math, you'll see that it's obvious Sonic Team is trying to re-release every old Sonic game ever made! And the next stop would be the sega Saturn games! Sonic Jam, Sonic R, Sonic 3D (Let's hope they forget to make that one...) maybe even NiGHTS?? Huh? Of course they may release The lesser Dreamcast games first (Sonic Shuffle, Samba), but I strongly think Sega Saturn games are in the near future. Of coarse, call me an idiot if you want. Or...call me a GENIUS or PSYCHIC!

They should try releasing all the Sega CD Sonic games first.

Back in 2001, I wrote my predictions for Sonic Team's activities for the coming year:
-- Sonic Team announce PSOv2a for XBox
-- Sonic Team announce PSOv2ab for Gamecube
-- Sonic Team announce SA2Battle Advance for Gamecube with updated compatibility with GBA
-- Sonic Team announce Asteroids for mobile phones
-- Sonic Team announce PSOv2ab for XBox
-- Sonic Team announce DAyS into Hallucinations... for Gamecube
-- Sonic Team announce Sonic Advance version 2002 for GBA
-- Sonic Team announce Space Invaders for mobile phones
-- Naoto Ohshima found dead with empty bottle of bleach and a suicide note with "THE LOVE'S LEFT YOUR EYES, NAKA-SAN" scrawled across it in blood
-- Sonic Team announce PSOv3 for Gamecube
-- Sonic Team announce 'Sonic Adventure 1 Classic' for Gamecube
-- Sonic Team announce PSOv3: Power Charge for XBox
-- Naoto Ohshima discovered rotating slowly in own grave
-- Yuji Naka seen gibbering "NiGHTS 3!!! SONIC INTO DREAMS!! BURNING ROCKET! PSO SPECIAL MEGA TURBO EDITION!! OMG OMG!" like an overexcited madman in street
-- Sonic Team announce ChuChu Rocket version 2 for XBox
-- Sonic Team announce Sonic Adventure 2: Knuckles Edition
-- Sonic Team suddenly disappear in a puff of uncreativity and credit cards
-- No-one notices
An alarming number of these actually happened in some form.

Corrected.

I dunno. I'm sick of ST constantly rehashing every single Sonic game ever released.

Really? I think it's pretty cool.

I'm still waiting for NiGHTS into Wet Dreams...

I think it's gotten to the point where the only Sonic game that hasn't been released on multiple platforms is Knuckles Chaotix. I'm sure ST is working on that, though.

Secretly, I wish for a "Mega Collection 2" that featured Sonic CD, Knuckles Chaotix, Sonic R, Sonic Pocket Adventure, Sonic the Arcade, Sonic Shuffle (I guess), and the Sonic World from Sonic Jam. It would never, ever happen, of course, but still... it'd be neat to have every single Sonic title ever all available on one console.

What wouldn't I give to have Sonic CD, Knuckles Chaotix, and Sonic the Arcade on one CD?! *drools*
I have Sonic R for my PC, but it has no music. And the music was like, 50% of the experience.

There's some funky glitch with the music in Sonic R PC. Sometimes it doesn't work, and even when it does, it eventually stops. I haven't heard of a working version of that ever.

I think that you're psychic GG!, because I just got Sonic R/Sonic 3D Blast in the mail recently and I was just about to ask that very question on how to get the music to work for Sonic R in the Sonic R in XP thread. Anyone have any tips?

I tried replacing one of the common sound effects with an MP3 of Sonic R music - figuring that when Sonic collected a ring, the game would trigger the MP3 and play the background music.
That didn't work, because the game screwed up the sound and tried to play the Mp3 in 20 seconds when it's a five minute song. It sounded like chipmunks exploding.

Hmm, does anyone think this is a good idea? 3D versions of the old games like Sonic 2 etc. There would be little or no dialog in them. Would it be a disgrace or a tribute to the classics?

I wouldn't know, since I wasn't good enough to unlock Green Hill Zone in SA2. So I don't know how a 3-D version of a classic Sonic stage would be executed.
But I kind of get the feeling that, with the paths an' all - that it'd be like Sonic Heroes - the whole level on a cliff *shudders* or like Crash Bandicoot - a straight-foward path bordered off - except at high speeds.
Unless GHZ was done really really well in SA2 . . . I don't think it sounds like a good idea.

I'm a little disturbed that you know what that sounds like.

Hmm, what if they weren't just straight-forward, but more like stages where you could move around like in the Adventure games?

I never had a problem with sound in the PC version of Sonic R. At least I don't remember having any problems with sound. I was running it off of Windows 98 though.

to tell you the truth, GHZ was the only good thing in SA2:B

Now, I've done my fair shair of SA2 bashing in my time, perhaps more than most... But after Sonic Heroes, SA2 is perfect by comparison.
And I have a feeling that I'll be complimenting Sonic Heroes once the next disaster is released. I'm guessing it involve controlling 12 characters at once, and it will somehow incorporate Sonic's original friends, except, y'know, making them hip by making them rap and wear vests and stuff. Cause vests are edgy and cool. I'm wearing one right now. And nothing else.
Either that, or it'll be a card game.

Believe it or not, I read somewhere that there is an actual Sonic card game out. I don't know much about it though.

Yeah, I bet the Sonic card game is just as popular as the Inital D and .hack//SIGN card games.
