Good Times: Camwhores Strike Back

Some of you peeps may have heard of a website called http://www.Rathergood.com and may know of a ska band called the "7 Seconds of Love" which includes members of the site.
Well, me and J-Man went all the way to London to see these guys live and it was a great night, so great in fact we wanted to share it with you.

After a quick trip to London we pop into The Comedy Pub which quite amasingly served tea, most probably in pints.
Image
The bill for the night, Very Special Guests were cool and their frontman skanked with us later. Viper Squadron were none too pleasing *cough-cough-drum-machine-cough*.
Protosoul's drummer lit a fire under my ass and we'll get onto 7 Seconds later.

Image
Clearly geared up for a night of rock the intrepid duo get excited like kids at christmas.

Image
7 Seconds come on stage, and off as guitarist Pat Schulenburg skanks along with us.

Image
Some of the band with frontman Joel Veitch in the snappy shirt. He regularly commented on our skank moves which also got some attention from some lovely asian babes.

Image
So hardcore ware our moves that we needed to sit it out for a few moments.

The trip back results in an hour long tube journey and boredom that leads to more camwhoring activities. Ranging from the Colin Farrell look to poledancing.

After their performance we talked to the band, were commended for our dance skills and were given free CDs before being asked to e-mail them the next day. Nice.

That's the night pretty much in a nutshell, apart from a video that I'm trying to upload. ;)

Well, shit, all I did was play an anti-semetic game of Scrabble.
Also, it's nice to know that I'm not the only guitarist who plays ska on a Tele.

I don't blame you, the ashtray on the Tele gives a good effect for Ska.
Oh, and Zeta, hold that thought darling.

Awesome pics of an awesome night, Craig! However, you didn't tell them about our perilous journey home... :)

Zeta, behave yourself. ;p

Well, what's to say?
We got refused at Marylebone, walked to Liester Square, got two tubes then couldn't get the train, got another tube and then another to get to the middle of nowhere and finally got a cab to get to my car and drove past many wierd people.

I also got into an arguement over Strats vs. Teles vs. Les Pauls. It ended in me crying and him smashing his guitar.

Quick, get Del away from her keyboard before she writes some kinda terrible Omni and j-man slash!

What did you prefer?

Back then, it was Strats, but that's how I discovered Teles.
I still mostly use Strats and the Jag-Stang for versatility reasons, but I still have the Tele for Ska, Funk, and the occasional Psychobilly jam.
But in retrospect, this may be going over the heads of our colleagues.

I prefer Teles as they are much lighter and less bulky. I'm pretty small so my guitars have to be quite slim and light.
In other news, I have a new job as a Chef Du Partie as of today although I'm on holiday for the next week. Better pay, nice fresh food, I can finally make my own pizzas and I could make Head Chef in 6 months.

I am very much looking forward to going into work and saying

Oh, and what's a slash Del?

Wuss. If I could I would buy a nice Les Paul Custom, probably in either Black or Red, with 3 pickups, a mahogany neck, and I would wear it around town, basking in the glory of its massive weight.
Pussy.

I feel obligated to tell you... But I can't, because PWB wouldn't, and I trust his judgement over mine.

However, name the top 3 guitarists who have influenced you the most, and I might tell you.

Frank Zappa, Jimmy Hendrix, Bill Bailey.
I can't help being small and wussy though, I haven't exactly grown in the last 6 years.:)

It's written gay porn.
Bill Bailey? This is my suprised face. But only slightly so.

Oh... my mind has just fried itself.
Mind you, Disenfranchaised Owl has to be one of my favourite songs of all time, albeit a short one.

Damn you! Joel Veitch is one of my heroes! Oh well... someday...

As rocking as Joel Veitch is, and I do mean supremely, he is a vocalist. At the end of the day Crab Bloke would be one of my favourite vocalists though.
I don't know where you live but me and J-Man are planning to see them again this year so if you live near London, Aylesbury or Milton Keynes then I'm sure you can tag along. Give me a PM if your interested.
