(I considered for a few minutes if this thread was worth posting, but then I remembered: "Heck, it's the GHZ!". So there.)

I've bought a dog today. He seems fine and healthy, but I can't make him poop in the right place. I already made a special, newspaper-full room for him to feel free, but he only wants to take a crap in the kitchen. The WHOLE kitchen. Do you know if ya can help me? (by the way, it's a puppy rottweiller)

Rub his nose in it, then hit him with a bat until he learns.

It'll take more than a day to train him. Plan on a few weeks. My dog is 6 years old and she still has accidents. Of course, she's dumber than a bag of rocks...

How old is he?

You bought a puppy. Puppies shit everywhere for weeks and months on end until they finally learn not to.

Enjoy.

I had a Rottweiller when I was younger. She was a good dog.

I miss her.

Our male kitten learned to use the litterbox on day one. Our female took an additional four days.

Cats are just fast at that because they like to bury their poop and litterstuff is one of the few diggable things in a house. Unlike dogs, which just go anywhere.

One reason why cats > dogs.

Oh yeah...by the way, is it normal if his pee is orange?

That's your dog's way of saying he loves you. Drink it up; it tastes like Kool-Aid.

What in the hell are you feeding him? :-P

Just make sure he drinks some fresh water. It may just be a slight kidney infection. It happens with puppies, sometimes.

Are you going to get him fixed?

I've never seen a seeing-eye cat or a Police drug-sniffing cat.

The Dogs v.s. Cats debate is stupid. Both have their good points and bad points. I actually used to be a huge anti-cat person myself, but I learned that much of the stereotypes applied to them aren't always true, and now I am both a huge dog AND cat person.

Plus, all the cat humor on the internets and all the catgirl animes kinda lured me in so meh.

Btw, "doogie"

It was a joke. I have friend who debates why cats are better than dogs with me. That is my usual defense.

Thanks, I'll remember that.

A while back, I got in trouble in school because of that whole cats vs. dogs thing. We were discussing it as a class, and I felt the need to yell out "I love pussy!" as loud as I could.

It's an immature joke, but it got a laugh. And a detention.

Anyway, the best thing to do with a dog is to put it in a bowl of fried rice.

Exactly why I order shrimp. You know how hard it is to get a dog to look like a shrimp?

I've always been a cat fan, I guess partially because there's always been at least one family cat in the house since the day I was born, but also because cats are usually (usually) much quieter than filthy, stupid canines.

We have this cool kitten my mom's coworker found abandoned in a barn a few weeks ago. It's definitely got a streak of some weird breed in it. His head is narrow, his ears are big and kind of floppy (plus they point outward as opposed to forward), his paws are huge, he's got a stub tail, and his hind legs are almost rabbit-like... he's pretty springy, too. He's pretty vicious, he doesn't play like other kittens, he just wants to maul stuff. I've named him Alexander the Great.

Sounds like he's part Bobcat. Which isn't unheard of. How big is he? What are his colorings/markings?

If so, Gibbon currently has the coolest cat ever.

That's what Spam and my dad suspect. It's definitely got some wild features, but it's got the colors and temperament of a normal housecat. It's just plain black and white, but it's fur is unusually tufty.

He's growing pretty fast, too. Just a few days before we got him, my mom found another kitten (picking up stray animals is her hobby) that is just a normal black housecat. The black kitten was twice the size of the weird one, but now just a few weeks later, the weird one is bigger.

I'm kind of looking forward to see how big it gets.

Have a feast once it's the size of a cow.

So, when it jumps up on your lap and breaks your legs, you'll let us know, right?

Myself, I've got a dog and a cat here. The dog's gettin old and sick, so he decided that the enirety of our house suddenly became "bathroom" one day. *shudder* That was one humoungus mess...

Tips:

Grab his collar, lead him to the poop, make him smell it, then whack him gently with a rolled-up newspaper. :P And scold. And make him drink more water, is all.

Why not walk him outside, and then clean up? Isn't that more convenient?

And did you think you'd get any serious advice here?
