Sonic the Hedgehog issue #150!

I got Sonic 150 (Archie Sonic) in the mail yesterday. After reading it, I can confidently say that the story about Tails being the Chosen One was resolved in the worst possible, most anticlimactic way, and his transformation looked really, really stupid. Also, the main story was pointless and confusing. It makes me sad. 125 seemed so awesome, even with the Xorda and Knuckles being dead and the last two pages reversed. But 150, with all the hype there was, totally sucked. Anyone else get it?

Bascially Tails has a special power that allowed him to merge with all the Tails in alternate realities into one giant Titan(A big naked Tails with muscles). He also has the power to absorb Chaos Emerald energy, which is what Mogul, the enemy he's fighting, is running off of. He absorbs all his energy, giving him god powers. He then restores everything to all the realities before Mogul attacked them all, the end.
At least the cover story didn't suck. I'll just paste my decription of it from another board:
we start the first story off with Sonic saving a chili dog stand owner from a SWATBot(In Knothole? The heck? I must have missed something in past issues...), with Mina, Amy, and Ash looking on. Sonic knocks the Bot into a nearby water fountain, short-circuting it. The stand owner natrually rewards Sonic with a free chili dog. Ash dismisses Sonic as a show-off, while Amy and Mina just shrug it off as jealousy.
Later in the day, as Mina heads for home, she runs into Sonic who's wanting for her. He says he doesn't have anything better to do, and asks Mina if he'd like to hang out with him by the creek. Mina asks "what about Ash?" Sonic holds up a flower to Mina and says "What about him?"
...okay, don't panic over Sonic's strange behavior here. It'll be explained later.
Meanwhile, over at Station Square, we find Rouge eavsdropping on NACK(Jim Doe rejoice) talking to Layken, some human mob boss. He must also be Nack's boss, because Nack is asking him to have a go at stealing the Chaos Emeralds on Angel Island. Layken turns him down, since the island's security has doubled since they started rebuilding after Eggbotnik's last attack. Rouge thinks to herself if Nack knows about them, others may as well. She decides she better go steal them now, before someone else does. She then flies off to the island.
"Back in Knothole, we find Sonic spending some quality time with Mina," as the text box says. Mina's excited that she's finally with Sonic, but then she realizes that she can't do this to Ash. Mina walks off, telling Sonic this isn't what she wanted. A disappointed Sonic sighs and thinks "So close, and yet so far!"
As Mina walks off in a rush, Amy then walks up. Sonic sees her and thinks "Well, this day may not be a total loss, espically with all the hot chicks in the local vicinty!" He walks up to Amy and asks if she's free at the moment...
Several hours later, at sunset, we find Tails searching for Sonic. He was supposed to meet up with Tails earlier in the day, but he never showed. He walks over to some bushes, where he FINDS SONIC IN A LIP LOCK WITH BUNNIE!
Bunnie says "After Antoine and I broke up, I didn't think anyone would be interseted in me!" Sonic says, "A babe like you? What's not to like?"
A shocked Tails comes up, who can't believe what Sonic is doing. Sonic then just blows Tails off saying when he needs a kid sidekick, he'll let him know. An upset Tails storms off. Bunnie suggests that they go after him. Sonic says that he'll be okay, and then goes to resume the lip locking. Bunnie then asks Sonic if HE'S okay.
Hours later, night has fallen. Bunnie wakes up next to Sonic, saying their "little nap went a bit long." She then runs off for home, not wanting to be seen out this late at night. Once Sonic is alone, we get a flashback on what's going on...
And now, I will also reveal the reason behind Antoine and Bunnie's breakup as well...
IT WAS THE ANTI-ANTOINE THE WHOLE TIME!(Or for the proper term, Evil Antoine. I prefer using Dan Drazen's terms for them)
Turns out that the AntiSonic and Twan have been at each others' throats, and the AntiTwan launches a plan to get rid of AntiSonic once and for all. Some time during Sonic's journey through space, AntiRotor builds him a handheld remote that opens a portal to Mobius Prime. AntiTwan plans to exile AntiSonic therem but of course, he gets knocked out before he can use it, and A-Sonic decides to fight fire with fire. He activates the device, and watches the portal until he sees the real Antoine walking out in the Great Forest by himself. A-Sonic goes through the portal, knock Ant out, and pulls the ol'switcheroo.
However, Anti-Twan decides to makes the most out of being stuck on Mobius Prime, so he pretends to be the real Ant, and gains the King's confidence. While the real Ant has been forced to live his life on the Anti-Mobius pretending to be Anti-Twan the whole time!
As time passes, Anti-Sonic sees how much of a sweet deal that Anti-Twan is getting, so he decides to do the same thing. Sometime in between this issue and the last, he opens the portal again, and knocks out the real Sonic before he can react. Anti-Sonic loves the new life he's living, fame, chili-dogs, and pimping around all the girls in Knothole. He delcares he'll never go back.
Meanwhile, Rouge arrives at Echindaopolis. She looks around to find a guide to show her around. She sees Locke nearby and thinks "That tall drink of echidna may be just what I need!"
Back in Knothole, Anti-Sonic decides to see what "fun he can have over with Sonic's parents." Then he notices one of Eggman's land mines(The heck? By the way, I forgot to mention that the Anti-Sonic knocked Sonic out while he was on a mission to sweep around the Great Forest to mark the locations of land mines Eggman had placed). He's tripped it off, so he leaps out of the way before it explodes.
Rotor and Sally hear it and run over to him. Sally is angry that he was supposed to just mark its location, saying he can never play it safe. The Anti-Sonic isn't pleased, thinking to himself that this Sally is a big a pain to him as the Anti-verison...
Meanwhile, back on Angel Island, we see Rouge and Locke walking outside the city. Rouge lies to him that she's come to the island to live a new life. She then asks him if he wouldn't happen to be the Guardian. Locke then gets suspicious at her, asking what she's after. Before Rouge can get in another full sentence, she's suddenly teleported away. Archimedes then appears, who was spying on them the whole time. He tells Locke that Knuckles has more sense then he does, and to stick with protecting the island and finding the Brotherhood.
We then see than Archy has conveniently teleported Rouge to Knothole. She gets up and thinks to herself that she needs to find someone to act as a decoy to destract Locke while she goes after the emeralds.
And just then Anti-Sonic walks up and notices her. With a nasty grin on his face, he thinks "Forget the rest, I've just found the best!"
And we get "TO BE CONTINUE'D" here.

You still read that stuff? I buy them only out of obligation to WB and the pretty covers now, but I haven't read any in a long time.

I don't bother buying them at all. If I want to read tripe I'll go to FFN.

I stopped reading the comics awhile ago, but one thing I definitely remember is Mina (the yellow and purple haired mongoose thingy) dying. Is she back from the dead or something?

the fact that I've never heard of anyone called Mina makes this bit seem very interesting.

Wait, who's Ash?

Hahahaha, YES. That is so awesome in its stupidity. It's good to see the comic has joined the ranks of Superman in terms of completely reusing old stories (in this case the "evil alternate universe characters pose as the heroes to sully their reputations and possibly fight them" plot from #24), and it has Evil Sonic, the best character ever. I'm going to buy this.

Why not just buy the ones done by WB and ignore that which you don't like?
I've been keeping up, but after the last few issues, I'm not very impressed anymore. What the hell happened? They were getting all moody and cool, and now, all of a sudden, they're reverting to the tripe that I hate all comics for! I'm about ready to say "Fuck it, Sonic" and just stick to Gold Digger. At least Fred Perry has a mature audience to cater to.

You say this like there's been anything solid past after the Endgame mini-series.
I've read summaries from time to time, but otherwise I haven't held interest in it for the longest.
I once had a fleeting thought of being a writer, if anything to test how good of a writer I was, but like most things, that too passed.

Well, can you please scan at least a panel(or page) with Nack/fang (alone or with Rouge) ? (and maybe the cover?)
Thanks in advance :)

This still doesn't explain why Mina's not dead.

Clearly you didn't read the last page of the story, where she was shot, but injured.

"Each tat is representative of something meaningful to him."
So I guess red and green squiggles mean a lot to him.

Actually that design was thrown out. It was a preliminary color that I uploaded because I didnt have one without it. Archie doesnt like tatoos on regular characters cause only bad guys wear them....
...Dont look at me.
Anyways - imagine him without the red and green squiggles and you got it.

Instead of making Sonic black and red with darker skin, upturned spikes, and chest hair, and making him the product of some sort of science experiment, they gave him a black leather jacket, sunglasses, and boots, and made him a citizen of a parallel universe where good is bad and bad is good, baby!

Clearly. I just remembered there being birth and death dates printed over one of the panels for some reason.

Also, for a second I thought he was wearing a skirt, which would have been awesome, but then I realized this was for Archie, and I wept. Or, sighed. You choose.

Considering this is Archie Sonic, I surprised myself when I said I wanted to know what happens next after reading #150, even though it's bring written by friggin' Penders.
I merely collect the comics out of some fandom left in me (been collecting them for about 8 years now), and Remington, the only other echidna other then Knuckles that I seem to give a damn about. Oh, and Karl Bollers is a pretty good writer...oh, yea, and someone who draws for it. What's his name? RB? WR? WB!?........Nah....is it WR?

Ken's work for the first 18 or so Knuckles comics was so good... I wonder what happened?
Still, he's got nothing on "Romy," whose work reaches exciting new planes of shitty every issue.

When I was twelve or so, I wrote a shitty, shitty fanfic - completely ripped off of a Stephen King book that I'd just read, which I thought at the time was "the best thing ever" - in which Tails turned out to be THE CHOSEN ONE and then, naturally, had to battle otherworldy demons. Because he was THE CHOSEN ONE, you see.
So the fact that they're now using a similar story is the most hilarious thing ever.
