Awesome.

And, aside of being ridiculously stereotypical and Hollywood-esque, Silv's was the only actual movie idea so far in this whole thread, and it wasn't half bad.
... Hum, for a long time I had this really quirky idea of a game or movie or animated series or whatever about a massive Sonic/ NiGHTS/ Burning Rangers cross-over that may or may not include new, original, non-sucky human characters somewhat a la Kingdom Hearts, starting with a biffed-up version of the very first Sonic X scene (complete with briefing and hi-tech gadgets that enhance Sonic's abilities), and the fact that Sonic has all the Chaos Emeralds and is able to transform since the beginning, but later on (after many levels/ scenes in Station Square, South Island and many other easily recognizable locations) he's defeated even while Super by some villain, loses the Emeralds and falls back through the atmosphere and into the jungle [enter some "Luke Skywalker" training and inner-force-finding filler], then the final battle and that's it, your average summer blockbuster.

The problem with Super Sonic is that is unbeatable outside the games. You can’t apply the "throw super Sonic out of the screen and make him lose ringsâ€￾ in a movie. Well you could, but I bet most people won’t get it, I remember the two Sonic ovas, they had a powerful eggrobo and metal Sonic, and Sonic didn’t turn super to beat them. It was awesome!.
Super Sonic lost a battle and had to scatter the emeralds in space, in Sonic X episode 53. Then he felt down on Mobius/Earth.

The thing was horrific.

But, on the bright side: He sure can draw.

And I should have been more clear about the drama thing. Left myself open to the smartass remarks one can expect from here. What I meant was that I didn't want the whole thing as serious as Sonic Adventure 1 or 2.

The way I see Super Sonic being done in a movie is basically have regular Sonic into a long battle with villain, get beat a lot, ala Spidey/GG in Spider-Man 1, and be near-death. Unconcious body somehow comes into contact with Emeralds, turns Super, defeats villain.

That's how I see it.

You were talking about it happeneing in a third movie. Thing is that I'm talking about just one Sonic movie, not a trilogy. If that's what I was thinking about, then that could work for me.

I'd love a trilogy. It could be like a long journey to find all seven Emeralds, and the friendship Sonic & Tails having being stronger with each film. (Like in LOTR with Fordo and Sam, when Frodo couldn't continue up the mountain, i'd like to see in the last film a scene where Sonic is somehow unable to continue or is beaten, and Tails has to be the leader for once. Showing how Tails has grown since the first film, where he is basically in Sonic's shadow and wanting to be like him. I don't want Tails to be annoying in these films, I want him to be "cool" like he used to be, and a character people could actually like.

Also every film would give a progression in the relationship between Sonic & Amy. At first, Amy's this girl from Sonic's childhood who Sonic finds to have cooties, and slowly he starts to mature and realize he may possibly love her (ok its corny and shippy but every good movie needs stuff like friendship, love, and stuff like that) it'd give an otherwise mindless action film some heart.

A trilogy would be great. Every movie would have a different draw

1: Origin, Sonic's past, how Sonic & Tails meet

2: introduction of Shadow, Eggman's past

3: Knuckles debut, conculsion to everything built up in the first two films, history of the emeralds coming full-circle.

... But, other than attending to this anime and cosplay convention, I didn't have anything else to do this last weekend. :(

It's a forum where twenty-somethings discuss a videogame hedgehog who passed his prime about eight years ago. We're all in this together, soldier.

You're on the wrong forum.

I still think My "Shadow time travels to cease his existence (or preferably change it's outcome)" idea was pretty good; probably not in the way I described it, but at least the general feel was good.

And the proper way to do a Sonic movie is most definitely with Metal Sonic as the main villain, no Metal sonic orchestrating an army from the shadows, or metal sonic tuning into a giant robot. A Metal Sonic that slaughters some people for the hell of it and sets a chain of events in place that lead to a climactic showdown with Sonic at the end. I would imagine that Metal Sonic has collected the Chaos emeralds by the end of the story and that halfway through duel both hedgehog and machine go super and then proceed to try and beat the shit out of each other. Sonic Adventure 2 introduced the concept that staying super form for to long would cause your body to dissipate into energy (SA2, Finalhazard) and this could be used as the key to the fight, whoever is strong enough to resist dissipating would win.

......B) a nerd and a loser and needs to take a long hard look at their life.

I will remember that as I bask in the glow of my excessively large multimedia setup and wander around my aviary full of exotic birds.

I think that was a translation error. They probably meant that the super form will disappear if you take too long, not you. Another part like that is when Biolizard disappears and Shadow says "Is that what chaos control is?" I think it's really more like "did he just use chaos control?"

I just checked, I had been sure that you disappeared if you ran out of rings, but as you said you just lose your super form, oh well. The concept would still work, just it would be whoever could stay super longer would win the battle.

Discussing the sad state of the games of a franchise that used to be good and that you used to love is one thing.

Describing in detail your version of the perfect movie conversion of that character is something you do with your friends at a sleepover at the age of 12.

No sir, I was busy checking my stocks. Huzzah! My investment in steel has paid off. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to the lodge to discuss the economy with other gentlemen of my stature. Members only, I'm sure you understand. Someone fetch my pipe.
